Hi there, i am a kinda casual player of the game, I reached legend rank just recently, and because of quarantine i have had somewhat more time to play the game we all enjoy :v
Thing is sometimes we find the Bad Luck Albatross situation in which it can be devastating in the right *look at priests* hands, and against some decks, Highlanders in general and beasts oriented in particular, some niche decks like Dragon-Boar mini OTK can be knocked out right away with a pair of Bad Luck Albatross.
I am aware the card will soon will be nerfed, in its tempo trait, the card is still remarkable, but not broken at all. So?
Playing some arena runs, with mid-high success, I realize how impactful can be Wyrmrest Purifier, specially in Demon Hunter, as long as the class has a smaller pool of cards to be randomly chosen from. People have used this card in attempts to make a mid-game transition on Purist Paladins, that is a proactive approach to the use of the card, this perspective is more reactive.
In my recent experience it is great in Highlander decks, your deck is already fucked up with those 4 Albatross in your deck, so go for it and make your Zephrys the Great and Dragonqueen Alexstrasza glow yellow again.
In non-Highlander decks one copy of Wyrmrest Purifier it is a good bet as a weird tech, using it in Galakrond Rogue has been impactul in longer matches versus more control decks, to not completely ruin your Galakrond, the Nightmare battlecry and Wondrous Wand uses drawing 0 mana Albatross.
What u guys think about it, let me know if you have used it.
The problem is unless they are already in hand this will also get rid of Alex and Zeph.
I honestly don't think it's useful. Firstly because of the aforementioned. Secondly - if you let Priest to freely spam reborns and fill your deck with Albatrosses, you are probably already f***ed up and this card won't help you. On the other hand, you can't really afford having dead card in your hand vs all other match-ups. It cloggs your hand - and more importantly every value you can get matters in current hearthstone.
Too big of a price to deal with just Albatross from Priest.
In Mage I run Polymorph - sometimes works very nicely. I don't know what would be the counter for Spell Druid and Paladin to run, but this wouldn't work too, because a) it's a minion b) it's not a paladin card.
EDIT: One more thing - this can give you duplicates.
