I think the problem is he just outclasses every other 6 drop, not that he's in itself a really strong card.
If there were other viable 6 drops, it would be fine, like how Fire Elemental is stronger than Argent Commander. What if there were other strong 6 drops which fit different playstyles? All the big cards (5+) tend to go 2 for 1 because they kill cheaper cards.
Think Cabal Shadowpriest, 4/5, when she comes into play, you take control of a <=2 Attack minion. If it was a bit better, it would be enough to compete against Commander. And no one wants to have too many 6 drops in their deck, so they would have to choose which one to play.
Nerfing him will make no 6 drop bar Fire Elemental worth the cost.
Banderita pretty much mirrored my opinion, there's no good neutral 6 drops. Just take a look at them, you'll understand:
I use Sunwalker and Argents in many decks because the alternatives are collectively lackluster. Legendaries are out of the question for many people and there's an aversion to Ogre for what I'm guessing is use of a majority of your turn for a minion with no immediate effect. Ogre is definitely solid, but when push comes to shove, he's not going to be all too reliable of a card.
Couple that with an excellent card like Argent, and there's no wonder he sees so much play.
Cairne is beast, Hogger just feels easy to remove, Illidan is niche, Beast is niche, Black Knight is niche and doesn't fit the meta, Lord of the Arena should be 4/7 or 4/8 to make him one of the best 6 drops, or who knows, 5/6 (I'd still pick Taz Dingo), rest is trash in constructed.
He's definitely not going to leave the spotlight any time soon in his current state, but they'll be making more viable alternatives to fit into different styles of play. Pretty damn sure they won't aim to make cards better than Argent, I'll tell you that much. Luckily, digital card games are a little less prone to power creep than their physical counterparts.
The fact of the matter can be summed up in this anecdote: I, unfortunately, don't have any Argent Commanders... but played vs two decks yesterday with double argent and won easily. Take from that what you will, but I am not an amazing player either. Sure the card can be threatening, but due to the disposable nature of minions in Hearthstone, it very seldom causes a problem.
So, just how "broken" are we trying to say this card is? are we trying to say that this card wins every time? Because that clearly isn't the case, and not every competitive deck runs it.
We are not saying its a IWIN card. The arguement is just overpowered compared to 6 slot minion spells because of haste and divine shield. It will automatically trade with 1 creature and with 4 power will usually trade with a second. So when choosing mid-late game drops its hard to choose something else for most decks.

Nozdormu wins you every game where you opponent has to go to the bathroom on turn 9.

In the last managrind tournament, argent commander appeared in all 8 top decks from each region. It actually is in every single competitive deck.

The metagame is shifting all the time. I am not speaking only of one week of tournaments. For example, the Blizzcon Invitational. Sure it wasn't THE MOST competitive of tournaments, but we saw a completely different line up of decks.

You can check out the previous managrind tournaments, argent commander is always at the top.
You just need to try it yourself and see how good it really is. It's one of my favorite cards.
HS is different from other similar games in using neutral minions and i find it really good way. We meet more cards like AC in future, I hope, because that make sense in game like this. And for sure i play 9 differents decks and except hunter i have AC in all of them:-)

Oh, don't get me wrong... I am fully aware that it is a great card, but there are also lots of great cards/combinations in HS. I think, as others have said, we will get many new cards here soon that limit the attention of Argent Commander. As long as a card isn't game breaking, eg Argent Commander , then I don't see an immediate need to mess around with the stats.

No it's not game breaking but we are kind of sick of it being in every single deck, it gets boring.

Could say the same about Spellbreaker granted a few people may still run Ironbeak Owl. Let's not get started on the class specific "autoincludes". It happens, there will always be favorite cards in every metagame. The meta will shift, of course, but one thing to note about TCGs are that there are always certain cards that will show up in a majority of decks.
Think of it like the cookie cutter "spec" or "builds" you see in other games. You have this same predicament in card games, only this is 2 of 30 cards, with there being a lot of variation besides that.
The only reason you see the exact same cards in almost all decks is because the card pool is so small. Yes they are slightly better than most other cards but in no way OP. Once more cards get released a lot of these cards will be less played.

I agree with Aishi. As soon as they release more cards (preferably more value 6 mana cost neutral minions), he'll probably leave the spotlight.
If they make any 6 drops later on that are better than the argent commander, then I will just be astonished.
