Did you also wonder what the gender was of Superwoman? I mean the clue is in Mare, I'd understand if it were named Bonesteed. I would love to see more gender neutral names.
This is mean and unnecessary. Not everyone has the same English level skills and it's simply rude to make fun of it. I'd report you if you weren't a mod.
Apologies if it came across that way, I read this thread thinking it was sarcasm and thought I'd reply with a sarcastic comment of my own, I suppose if you don't see it in that way it doesn't come across like that, but yeah, not my attention to mock someone's English! I'd be pretty hypocritical to do so since I come from an England speaking country and we are notorious for not knowing other languages.
Also, just because I'm a Mod that shouldn't affect your decision with reporting, we deal with everyone equally, I just hope I've explained myself well enough so that nobody gets hurt!

Okay, I'm happy to know it was sarcastic. You understand that seeing it from a none-sarcastic POV makes it seem extremely hurtful..? I'm just excusing myself. Glad to know the true face of things. :)

Don't worry about it. In fact, most non-English languages also have gendered words for animals. In Dutch, it's ''Merrie'' for Mare.
I'm a non-native English speaker and I think "mare" is not an obscure word at all. And, judging by the translation Blizzard made for the card to my native language - Portuguese ("Égua Esquelética" ), I assume they they used the gender specific word for "mare" on other languages too. So, pretty obvious to me.

In German there is actually a specific word for mare ("Stute" or maybe "Mähre"), but they did not use it. They used "Ross" ("steed") instead. Probably because "Ross" sounds better to german ears.
How is this obvious? Unless you have knowledge of horses, you would not know this. Quit being an ass for no reason.
I don't really have any knowledge about horses and I knew that mare is a female horse, as a non-native speaker. The swedish word "märr" is pretty close though, so that's probably the reason I know it in english.
I wouldn't go so far as to say that everyone should know this though.

In my case I always thought she was an "it". I mean - why would you try to assume the gender of a flesh-less horse!!!
