VVhat do You think of this card? I am not sure hovv to feel about Bloodsail Corsair. I feel like you need to play it in a pirate focused deck because of the Small number of pirates, but for 1 more mana Acidic Swamp Ooze has more attack and a enhanced effect. I just feel like pirates in general dont work vvell together.
Bloodsail Cordair isn't that horrible because of the ability, common weapons only have one more durability after being played and attacked with anyways. (The exceptions being Shaman's Stormfroged Axe and the gradually growing popularity of Sword of Justice). The problem is that his base stats suck. Ooze has good stats for a 2 drop at 3/2 and if you run two, there's no real problem throwing him out on turn 2.
If you're going for a Pirate deck, why not. He gets buffed up to a respectable 2/3 with the Epic pirate. But you're right, Pirate themed decks need a little more support before becoming viable. People currently use Parrots only as a tutor for Captain Greenskin and Bloodsail Raiders.
The effect itself from the Corsair ain't that bad. In most cases it will be just as effective as the ooze as people as most people swing with the weapon when they play it. The problem is that you get more goo for the buck with the ooze. While mostly a utility minion, a 3/2 remains significant enough through all parts of the game. A 1/2 is quite meh and really wont do anything that the 3/2 couldn't have done by itself.
Compared to the murlocs, pirates don't really have any special synergy with each other other than the captain. Even with the captain on the field, he simply can't compete with the ooze. He's also a quite oddball in the entire pirate deck as other than the pirate support cards (Captain and Parrot) he's the only one that does not have any synergy with you having a weapon. His effect only works based on if your opponent uses one. I'd prefer to have his entire effect changed to something that has more synergy with your own weapon. Like, "Battlecry: if you have a weapon equipped, summon another Corsair." This would also give some more use for the Captain.
Simply put, the difference between the ooze and the pirate are simply not big enough so currently there is no reason to use the Corsair over the Ooze. In case the difference would be increased, like Ooze would be to 3 mana, I could expect him to see some play. No point using him in a pirate or weapon deck as the synergy with them are not enough to beat the ooze.
I'd feel like it would work quite well as a weaker version of the current legendary pirate. Instead of the +1/+1, just +1 durability or something similar. It would fit the overall weapon support theme quite well.
