Does it actually count how much dmg you've taken? What if I play Lord Jaraxxus, how much will the giant cost now? 5? I know it might be changed, but just for understanding mechanics.
Read the cards that's as much as anyone has to offer as far as i know. I personal play it the way it reads so if i take 20 damage then heal 20 i play it for 0. Don't think Jaraxxus deals any damage so that shouldn't work.
My understanding of Jaraxxus and Molten Giant is that if you play Jaraxxus, your maximum health is now set to 15. So if you play Jaraxxus, lose 5 health (so you are at 10), then try to play the giant, he would cost 15 mana. Since Jaraxxus is a new hero with a new maximum health, I don't think Molten Giant will "remember" what the old max health was, just like he doesn't remember healing.
Indeed, if you play jaraxxus, molten giant now costs 5 mana.
I wouldn't be so sure of that. Jaraxxus replaces your hero, making your maximum health 15, not 30. This means a lot of things, like the inability to heal past 15, but it certainly means that you'll need to be dropped to 5 health before you can even cast Molten Giant without some other effects.
It was confirmed in a blue post that the cost reduction is the difference between your max and your current health, NOT anything to do with "total damage taken". Healing up will increase its cost again, and changing your max health will as well. Alexstrasza on yourself would work though, if you really wanted to. That sets remaining health, not maximum.

I tend to agree with Nethara on this one. Here is the card just so we all have a quick reference Lord Jaraxxus. No damage is dealt when this card is played. Instead, your hero is replaced. The 15 health of Jaraxxus indeed becomes your new maximum health. I agree with Nethara's explanation.
Logicly I agree that Jaraxxus makes your maximum health 15 but I'm not sure they would make molten giant nearly unplayable due to such a strong card like Jaraxxus being played.

You guys are being ridiculous, jaraxxus doesn't reduce the cost, it changes ur max health. I knew he didn't affect molten giant the second I saw the cards spoiled, didn't even need a blue post.
They nerfed Molten Giant because there was a Warrior combo with Moltens that coulda burst very hard, I forget exactly what the combo was so hopefully someone can fill in the blanks here.
The warrior waited to less than 10 health, then played the Warsong Commander (all other minions have charge) then two Molten Giants (when they were 10/10) so you charged for 20 damage. Then you played Youthful Brewmaster to bounce 1 Giant to you hand, play the Giant again and charge for another 10.
30 damage for 5 mana and you don't need any board presence to do it.

Blue clarified this. It's based on current health only. Doesn't count damage you've healed.

I think molten giant will be 5 cost and not 20 with jaraxxus it wouldn't make sense otherwise.

What, they aren't allowed to make cards that don't work together?
you're also right :D But it's Jaraxxus :D Well doesn't matter even if you can't play molten giant as efficiently it's both cards are really powerful.
Let me change your mind
Why do people say Molten Giant doesn't work with Jaraxxus? You can still get him into castable range, it hurts a lot more, but it's do-able.
I said as efficiently :D I didn't say you couldn't

Dissapointed, I expexcited you to know better. ;P
I should have clarified myself more. What I meant was what I said in #9.
