I always keep Arcane Golem in my hand and try to keep it for a finisher.
However I've started seeing more and more Aggro Decks using multiple times for damage, I always worry myself about using it just for face damage or board dominance due to the Extra Mana the enemy get.
When would be the best time to use it and why? Would this depend on the deck?
I play quite a bit of Backspaces' Coldlight Rogue, and I can say that the only time I don't play Arcane Golem is if it would give the opponent enough mana to play their classes' most common mass wipes on their turn. So you don't play it against a Paladin that has 2 mana (because on their turn they'll have enough for Consecrate if you do), or a Priest/Druid that has 3 mana, or a Mage that has 5 mana, etc. If they won't have enough mana to wipe, I'll play it; if they already had enough mana to wipe and haven't wiped, I play it.
In general, though, Coldlight Rogue counts on the opponent having lots of cards and lots of mana to do things with them (because you're giving them both cards and mana and trying to outrush them with the Rogue's super-efficient damage spells); I'm not sure that the same logic would apply with just any random deck.

I looked at this card originally and I thought, you know, it's a card, and you play this card. The card will be that card that you play so you're playing a card. So, it is one thing to play a card. If you're opponent doesn't really have any cards, the card will screw up the card pretty hard, and that means it's a pretty good card.

I'd use it as a finisher if I ran such a terrible card.
Yeah, like Leeroy, I would use it as a finisher card.
