I need help understanding something about these two cards.
Both Mortal Strike and Fireball cost 4 mana and both spells can target minions and enemy heroes, however, Fireball will always deal 6 damage, on the contrary, Mortal Strike deals a base 4 damage and to get the additional 2 points, the warrior needs to be bellow 12 health.
I can only think of one reason for this and it is to use the warrior's hero ability to "heal" overtime by Armor Up!, but still, since the warrior spell has a requirement to deal the same 6 damage as the mage card, shouldn't the cost of Mortal Strike be lowered?
Mage's unique "ability" is that all their spells deal an extra point of damage (in order to capture the feel of mage, presumably). This is why Fireball deals 6 damage for 4, why Pyroblast originally did 10 damage for 8, and why Frostbolt has the extra freeze effect on top of the 3 damage. For all other classes, the damage of spells is equal to the spell's cost + 1 (e.g. Arcane Shot), which is why Mortal Strike costs 4 and averages 5 damage.
they already have 5 mana for 10 damage spread out over 2 turns in reaper, I know that it doesn't hit through taunt but 10 damage by turn 6 beats 10 for 10 that the mage has. Long story short each class has stuff that it is good at.
What about Lava Burst that's 5 damage for 5 mana spread over 2 turns, the cards need to be slightly different, or what is the point to having different classes.
