Hey guys, I got a few Hearthstone science experiments here that I'm too lazy to do myself merely because I dont have most of the cards and I cant wait to find out the answer. aaand im also broke xD
Sylvanas Windrunner is in your half of the board. You are playing a paladin and you have just played Redemption. The enemy can be any hero. The enemy has for example 4 minions on the board. All of them have their attack and hp value higher than or equal to 5. Enemy attacks your Sylvanas Windrunner with one of his minions. Does Deathrattle proc before Redemption? Why I'm asking, is because for something to be "returned to life" it must first be dead and Deathrattle procs when something dies. If this happens you steal one minion. Now you have a 5/5 and Sylvanas Windrunner with 1hp on the board. He has 2 5/5's. They decide to send another of their 5/5 minion at your Sylvanas Windrunner (quite foolishly of course). When returned to life, will your Sylvanas Windrunner have another instance of Deathrattle? Why I'm asking, is because cards like Azure Drake get revived with their bonus Spell Damage.
Anyway guys, thats all the experiments I can think of for now. Please if reply if you know the answer. Hope you guys have fun experimenting xD
I cannot answer # with certainty, but #2 is yes. When a minion with death rattle dies and returns, they have a second opportunity to process their deathrattle. I have used this technique with great success doing ancestral spirit + cairne + faceless for a board full of 4/5s
Wow, thanks for the answers guys. BUT, I still need someone to do Experiment 1 for me cos im extra super lazy xD
In the meantime, I'll think up more experiments for you guys.
Also special mention to Darkbladecr for providing me answers to future experiments regarding Sylvanas Windrunner. Her mechanics are very complex and is why I want her to be the 2nd legendary I craft xD
I have a friend who plays Miracle Rogue. He was playing vs Hunter. He played the Murloc to make opponent draw 2-> opponent drew to 10. Then Sap to Savannah Highmane to get it to discard. What happened was that the Deathrattle activated, and 2x 2/2 minions ended up on the board!
Interesting, well I guess it makes sense where you kill the minion instead of return it to the hand so death rattle effects still occur.
I remember back in the day when this wasn't the case and you would have the Stampeding Kodo destroy a Harvest Golem and not let its death rattle happen. That was OP back in then.

anyway
Experiment 1:
Sylvanas Windrunner is on your half of the board. The enemy has Ragnaros the Firelord on his half of board. It is your turn. You are a warlock. The opponent can be any hero really. You play Power Overwhelming on Sylvanas Windrunner and attack his face. You click "end turn". What happens? Power Overwhelming kills Sylvanas and steals Ragnaros the Firelord. That's obvious. But the tricky part is, will Ragnaros the Firelord spew out a fireball?

Experiment One is interesting and I don't know it's answer
But I know Experiment 2 answer: Yes.
Sylvanas Windrunner's Deathrattle will work then she will return from death

Wow, that's an awesome resource.
I'm amazed that Blizzard hasn't clarified the trigger rules yet.
