I just played an absolute complete mirror match in this weeks brawl. Back to back. Unbelievable! It was a Warlock mirror match
Aswell as my opponent as for mysellf, we had the EXACT same portal results. My portal outcome was an exact copy of my game before and so was his hand. This was absolutely insane to witness!
I was complaining against my friend that my RNG from the portals was very poorly this game. My opponent was having a great early game outcome, followed by a neferian. My first 4 minions were defender of argus, ancient watcher, northshire footman and succubus. He got mistress of pain, cobra, metaltooth and summoning portal into Nef. I ended up losing the match because i was totaly destroyed.
I start up game number 2. Warlock VS warlock.
And we simply could not believe what was happening. I got defender of argus, ancient watcher, northshire footman and succubus... He got mistress of pain, the cobra, metaltooth and summoning portal into Nef.
WHAT THE FLYING F....
Portals are NOT random guys and to be honest we felt cheated.
Anyone else experienced this yet?
I got screenshots from my mirror game because i was so shocked this happened.
Do you know how "random" is created in coding. It isn't really random at all. While the chances are small, if the starting point happens to coincide and the same play sequence is followed, there is a good likelihood the code will produce the same results. It is just super rare to have the same starting point.
Also as a poster above said, Randomness in code is not true randomness. It is based off an algorithm. The more likely scenario, is that there is a bug in their code to generate random results and you just happened across the bug.
No, i already had this account for a while. Just never posted on it.

I was just so suprised to see that this effect occured that i got worried about alot of HS 'random' things. The topdecks in arena seem all of a sudden so dirty :(
No, it was a different opponent, but it was again a warlock.
The thing was that game 1 and game 2 were exactly the same.
Every portal from me and my opponent in game 1 was exactly the same outcome. I had argus from portal 1 in both games. Watcher as portal 2 in each game. Footman from portal 3 in each game etc etc
My opponent also had the same outcome from his portals in both games.
So there was no RNG. The outcome from the portals was identical over 2 different games AND in the exact same order.
Did you have a slightly different opening hand? (I did)
As I recall you Dark Bombed my cobra in the 1st game, but in the 2nd game you portaled instead, which meant you drew the Stranglethorn tiger (In the 1st game I drew the Stranglethorn, and then shadowflamed your board with it)
:edit:
btw I saved a copy of Hearthstone's output_log.txt.
I know sometimes such bugs are related to the pointer that links to a starting point in the fixed or hardware based random number chain. If this pointer is not changed, you would have duplicated RNG.

Lol. Very funny that you also made a post about it. I also had a slightly different hand. I did not have corruption in starting hand. Did not even notice it was the same opponent... Shadowflame the tiger to wipe my board was my queue to concede in game 1 :')

I always knew all those topdecks i endure in Arena were fixed
No, srs guys. This is plain stupid if they coded the outcome for the portals.
Option 3: Blizzard blue poster will confirm "Brawl - portals" are not random.

Did you create a new account, just to post this again and have it seem like a different person, or was this your opponent?

You got the same opponent two games running too, is that what you're saying?

Most likely a bug in code
I hate RNG
Haha, I was the opponent!!
Here's my thread on the topic:

buy a lottery ticket today :-)

Exactly what I was getting at. You said it very well.
