Luckily for me the 6th opponent was not that smart and I got to win. But are you kidding me? Ragnaros has 0% chance to win against decent players. Such a big imbalance.
Like others said. After I got the pack there is 0% motivation to do replays.
You know, I'm pretty much a newb, with less than 2 weeks under my belt, but I'm winning pretty consistently with both decks. If I discount my first 4 games, I'm 10-2, with 7 games as Ragnaros. Its true that you have to understand the deck to win with Ragnaros, but it really isn't that hard. I need to grind for the 10 gold/3 wins, and I can tell you that it is a lot easier for a beginner without a huge card collection to win in this mode, versus even casual, where half the opponents are running decks with 10-12 legendaries.
Writing as a professional game developer myself (since mid '80s):
It's unbelievable how some people are complaining and even getting angry about something (Brawl) that:
1) is 100% free, in terms of money and everything else; 2) is not required to be participated in; 3) does not enforce itself onto you; 4) can be just left aside if not to one's liking; 5) (temporarily) grants a free reward for winning once a week.
It once again says enough about the sad mentality of the mindset of 21th century overly spoiled gamers. I don't want to be judging, but I find it outright disgusting. Also it works demotivating for as far as my work goes.
I can't believe this comment. If you are such a long time game developer you would think you have more knowledge about the marketing besides the game. This brawl mode is pure marketing. People come back to play the game cause a new mode is out. They might buy a few more packs just to get into the game again.
One other thing you might want to think about. Nothing in the world is ever free. The game itself is free to play. But most of the people will buy stuff anyway cause the game itself has been free. Thus it doesn't matter if you spent a few bucks on it.
Blizzard is very smart and they know this works. Why do you think they came with HotS after HS? Works the exact same way. Free to play but people buy stuff ingame anyway. If they didn't, Blizzard would stop making these kind of games.
That what happens at forums. Get over it. The complaints are good for the game. It means the game is not yet where it should be and the developers can do some work arounds to get it better.

There will be complaints no matter what the game is like - the devs have to filter out the meaningless ones and focus on the useful ones. A lot of the complaints in this (and other) threads certainly appear to be somewhat meaningless and thus will have to be filtered out as noise.
I'm having a blast with brawl. Even if it is favored for Nef right now, I still enjoy playing as Rag because I actually enjoy a challenge and my win/loss ratio for Rag really isn't that bad. While yes, I win far more games as Nef, my win rate with Rag is well over 50%. Luck does play a role, as always, but a large majority of it is simply just playing smart....like always.
That being said, who cares if it's imbalanced. This brawl is only going to be around for a few days and then we get to try something else. Just have fun with it. If you aren't too keen on a particular brawl, go back to playing ranked, casual or arena and come back once it changes. Odds are eventually there will be one you enjoy.
That being said, if when all is said and done and you simply decide you don't like the brawl mode in general, then just don't play it. No harm, no foul. You aren't out anything. While you are busy not playing brawl, I'll continue to have fun with it week in and week out. Though I'm somewhat of the opinion that if someone decides they simply don't like the brawl mode in general, wtf are they even doing playing Hearthstone in the first place? But that's just me.
Weren't the first posts yesterday all about how much better Ragnaros is than Nefarian? :D
People in this forum whine about everything...played 2 games, both pretty close, 1 as Nef and 1 as Rag, lost with Nef won with Rag, it was quite funny but after i got the pack i won't play it again this week.
Dunno what everyone's problem is. Just don't play it if you think it's that horrible but im sure even all the whiners like free packs so they will play it anyway.
Played one game and it seemed mildly fun. I played poorly but I won because Nef gave me a free pyroblast when I needed it. Seems like a good mode for people without cards.
Imo brawl is great thing. Played 10 games so far, 8 wins, 2 loses. Lost once as Nefarian and as Ragnaros. Won 5 as Nefarian and 3 as Ragnaros. I don't understand why people complain about unbalanced cards / decks. There IS balance. Nefarian's power looks better, but in fact it isn't. It's random spell, guys. Random. I got Pyroblast and next time I got Mirror Image. You're so close minded that I'm kinda sad about it. You just get used to current meta and can't think out of it. Yeah, here there are no rules or plays that you have to do. Like "oh, no, mage, I'm afraid of flamestrike" - yeah, ragnaros has flamestrike too, but playing against nefarian you just have to think.
I think they are starting out fairly simply, and this first brawl is pitched more towards casual players (who make up the majority of the player base).
We won't know until it happens, but I think that some future brawls will be more geared towards non-casual players - although I would expect the casual brawls to outnumber the hardcore brawls overall.
I think it's interesting how Blizzard's internal numbers were 45% Rag 55% Nef. They really need some better players to test their stuff.
brawl doesnt deserve a button
So, after playing a bit more, me and my friends agree, it's Rags vs Notfairian
Is there any reason to win more thin once? There is win counter.
Do you know reason for this counter?
Played 6 games. All 6 times I got Ragnaros.
Luckily for me the 6th opponent was not that smart and I got to win. But are you kidding me? Ragnaros has 0% chance to win against decent players. Such a big imbalance.

A very, very bad expansion of the game.

Oh look another complainer about complaints.

Noise isn't always useful.
Personally, I find it fun. It's a casual casual mode.
Yes, it could use a little more variety, but for the time being it's enjoyable, no consequence fun.
People will whine about anything won't they.

The most unfair thing in this matchup is not even the cards, it's the starting amount of mana

Luckily for us reasonable people Blizzard knows very well that whiners gonna whine.
When I play as Nefarian
When I play as Ragnaros
Still I believe this mode is really good. I'm having fun with it!

You are not prepared!
Only the first win worth the brawl. The rest is not interesting. I prefer to play casual.
10/10 mode

9/10 for me. Love brawls ^^
