Do you find the keyword Adapt a little too old? That some of the adaptations are really underwhelming? Then you are just like me and I have a solution for both of us! What I wanted was for the player to have more control over Amalgadon abilities while still keeping relevant the minion types you have in your board. After spending some time thinking I came up with this, check it out:
Start of Combat: Gain a different ability for each different minion type you have among other minions. Beast - Deathrattle: Summon six 1/1 Amalgams. Turns out Amalgadon was made from 6 tiny Amalgams... Demon - Deathrattle: Give this minion's Attack to a random friendly minion. Someone should have read the small letters of this card text. Dragons - Whenever this minion attacks, deal 3 damage to its target. Be careful with its breath... it might smell searing hot. Elemental - Windfury. They fed him a a wind elemental but it was too late to see the windup. Mech - Divine Shield. Autodefense Matrix engaged! Murloc - Poisonous. "Mrglmrglmrgldon?" Pirates - Deathrattle: Summon a 0/2 Treasure Chest. Nat Pagle once hid a treasure where he thought no one would ever find it. Treasure Chest: 0/2 Deathrattle: Summon a random Golden minion. Quillboar - Frenzy: Attack a random enemy minion. "Dom... SMASH!" All - No interaction.
The ever-changing nature of this card will bring the players more choices to make when deciding his composition. Amalgadon will still be a great unit to buff and increase its stats. I love how the abilities have small synergies between themselves and are beneficial to each of their tribes. Most of these abilities are similar to other battleground staples and whenever a new tribe gets added to the game he would get a crazy new ability to match it!

Well, the easy and automatic Poison/Divine Shield from having a mech and a murloc would make it broken beyond belief.
I kinda like the concept of a consistent effect based on friendly minions, but consistency with Poison/Divine would be ruinous. Mech could be a potent bomb deathrattle, and murloc... maybe just a hearty attack buff. If you want infinity attack or health, you'd have to use SI: Sefin or Annoy-O-Module.
I agree that Poisonous and Divine Shield are really strong abilities and are the most sought in the current Amalgadon but they can be counteracted by other means like reborn Maexxna which has been really strong this latest patch. Also we need to keep in mind that these abilities are only obtained during combat and they are not permanent! So you will need to keep your battlefield filled with the desired effects every combat! Its not unusual to have a Mech and a Murloc in your board but only sometimes these tribes will be available together too.
I do believe Poisonous is a super strong effect and needs to be thought very carefully. Maybe an effect like Murloc Warleader would be more reasonable.
Thanks for the input!
