Look at crap games like clash of clans which has been around forever mainly due to consistent updates which hs is also really good at but also the vast amount of events and social aspects they are consistently adding. We need something similar in hs for the longevity of the game but also for the motivation for playing. Many players reach legend the first week then just log of until the new season. Adding a clan or guild system similar to clash of clans with weekly guild battles raids etc would be awesome this would also fix many of the progression problems of new players with new interesting ways to earn loot.
Also something as simple as having the ability to communicate daily with an in game community would vastly improve the motivation to log on and hang out in the guild/clan hub.
Why log off after getting Legend? Be top50 end of the month (standard mode) to earn rl tournament points, to compete for tela cash. Logging off is just like wasting money.
This had been discussed among Devs as far as I'm aware, they were planning on bringing in a co-op multiplayer that they said was gonna be something special and unlike the previous co-op brawls we've had... That was about 4-5 years ago now unfortunately.
They also did the whole alliance Vs horde clans meme thing that meant nothing ultimately.
But I do agree with raids, a little bit of me was hopeful for that when mercs was announced, I thought the rogue like missions were gonna be long with lots of decision making, new temp mercs for your team, tonnes of treasures similar to duels, multiplayer options and cool stuff like that. But it was nothing like that. Maybe because of its failure, they're scared to try something unique again. So even if they did add raids, I doubt they'll feel fun or replayable and clans will probably feel empty and pointless after a month or 2 if there's very little incentive or reward, which are both something blizz really hate giving nowadays.
I agree with you, but I don't trust in blizzard anymore like I did almost 20 years ago
