What do you think about class veto option in Hearthstone?
(the option that let players choose which class they don't want to play against, sorry for my English)
To keep this out of being one of those salty threads, let's not finger pointing to specific deck/class xD.
But I think sometime, at some points in the game, almost everyone would feel sick playing against a particular deck/class.
In my opinion, the merit would be that, at least it would keep somewhat sanity left for some players xD.
and it might help those "meta" decks/class to have a little bit longer queue time, which might make them consider to play other decks. (doubtful though,,,)
counter-argument though, would be,
1. "why do I have to be punished for longer queue time for playing meta decks?" <- sure, but this might not even be a 'punishment" after all, like in mmorpg, DPS generally have a longer queue time than healer/tank (not that I'm saying that it's a great game design or anything). I don't want to say DPS is easier to play than healer/tank and what-not, cos it's gonna derail the argument horribly. Let's say, it's about demand/supply thingy. If you choose to play the deck/class that many other players don't feel like to play against, then...
2. for some decks, this veto thingy might actually become too much powerful tool for them. Like, if deck "A" choose to veto class "B", which it is actually one of very few counter, then deck "A" would roam freely on the ladder...? <- this might be kinda tricky? but if that happens to deck "A" and it become so popular and too powerful, players will start to veto deck "A"?
3. ^above, it would lead to even more difficult to balance things for developer... (cough cough, like they try to balance things, cough cough) since they always say, they love to wait and see, which finally players will strive and thrive, eventually will craft some anti-xxx deck and change the meta (that... went very well... didn't it...)
4. Ladder system would be very weird...? <- would it? donno.
Please share your opinions as well. (please keep it constructive :) , please refrain from "git-gud", "learn to play against my great xxx deck u nub" and such replies... m(_ _)m

Freeze Mage and Control Warrior / Current Druid is a good example of that. This is currently the biggest issue with the idea (which I like a lot, though).
3. It just might be better if you can ban a card or two instead of a class. Once banned you can't face decks that are playing that card. Seems less restrictive compared to banning a whole class.
And I think this could be the solution, since, for instance, you could want to ban Taunt Warrior but not Pirate Warrior or the other way around. Just imagine (of course, you cannot play with a deck containing a card you've banned) :
It actually has the benefits of providing players a way to pseudo-Hall of Fame the game themselves. This way it could indeed be used as a metric by Blizzard to detect which cards are detrimental for the enjoyment of a fun and interactive game.
yup, agreed that banning "cards" might be better. (So it's not class/racism! XD)
the thing might be, how many cards can each player ban?
and to ban some key cards might as well=ban the class? (Like firey waraxes) therefore, if you can ban several cards, it's gonna be=can ban many classes.
(which well, of course, players choose to ban many classes=longer queue for them, seems fair)
I do understand the idea behind your proposal but it is, regretfully or not, totally impossible to handle.
No possible ladder as you did not meet the same players as somebody who banned an other card. How are you to compare?
Strong archetypes decks very often have one type of arch-enemy. If you enable them to counter that enemy deck by banning one of its best cards, they could well end up being even stronger. They can also reinforce their decks knowing that they won't have to face that one specific card.
The queues will become an incredible nightmare as we all have that one card in our decks some players want nerfed.

Thanks for good ideas :)
(and that simple word is to "ban" lol!)

You should be able to ban a class and also the system should make players avoid mirror match up.
Dunno what has been holding blizzard about those features.
The more sand has escaped from the hourglass of our life, the clearer we should see through it.

I'll stop here. I think my idea is clear enough
