I love spell power. There are so many abilities in every class that scale off of spell power, most of which aren't being used to their advantage. If I had it my way, there would be a Bloodmage Thalnos in every deck.
The goal of this deck is quite similar to that of a traditional mage deck. Poke your opponent down with what little damage you have, and unleash hell late game. You have an absurd amount of board clear with this deck, even if some of it has to be a combo. You almost never end a game with under 20 hp since you'll almost always be casting Armor Up! each turn. All of the Warrior spells are pretty low mana cost. Since you're not spending mana on minions, you'll be at 10+ armor in no time and be able to keep the board clear.
Board Clear: -Inner Rage x 2 Scales off of Spell Power. -Execute x 2 It's Execute... -Shield Slam x 1 You can replace a Faceless or Pyromancer with another one. Does armor + Spell Power (even though it doesn't say it does). -Whirlwind x 2 Scales off of Spell Power. This is your bread and butter, save this for when you draw a Spell Power. Remember you'll probably be killing your unit along with theirs. -Cleave x 2 Scales off of Spell Power. -Slam x 2 Scales off of Spell Power + Draw. -Wild Pyromancers x 2 Feel free to replace these, but I love them. -Mortal Strike x 2 Also your only direct damage spell that can be used on their hero, keep that in mind. -Brawl x 1 Free free to add another one in lieu of a Pyromancer, this is your only hard AoE aside from Whirlwind.
Weapons: -Arcanite Reaper x 2 Board clear and hero damage late game. -Gorehowl x 1 Feel free to replace a Pyromancer or Faceless with a second. Board clear and hero damage.
Units: -Bloodmage Thalnos x 1 -Kobold Geomancers x 2 -Azure Drake x 2 -Faceless Manipulator x 1 -Grommosh Hellscream x 1 -Ragnaros x 1 -Ysera x 1
Most of these units are either for spell power or guaranteed card draw/damage. The only major thing this deck lacks is hero damage.
The Wild Pyromancers are far more board clear than you would expect. You can always substitute out the Pyromancers and the Faceless if you don't feel they're working out for you. My reccomendations for their replacements would be: -Brawl -Gorehowl -Shield Slam -Archmage -Malygos
If you're not playing 2x Fiery War Axe you're wrong. Add another Shield Slam (or cut the 3 armor related cards) and 2x Fiery War Axes, then you can start testing and tweaking. if you don't have the axes, you're not playing optimally. They are some of the BEST cards in the game.
