I played 2 firefly and bounce one of them back and play them again with shadowstep. then on turn 4 i have about 3 flame elemental i play them all confidently and none of count? I expected the second one or the third one to count at least wtf?

Because the quest is: PLay 4 minion with the same name. So if you played 3 flame elemental is missing one to finish the quest.

They count. You just need to play the 4th one to see it counts.
