What is the best number of spells one could cast before they play Yogg? Does it vary for different matchups/situations? At what spell count can Yogg, on average, start to see diminishing returns? Or am I just over thinking it and just keep it 5-8 on favorable boards.
I think what matters the most, is the amount of stuff on the board, so that theoretically you have less chance of hitting yogg with fireballs etc.
So the optimal number of spells is probably a function of the board state you expect it to handle. Although generally if opponents board is wide enough more is still more.
as long as the amount of spells is 5 or more it's generally always going to do something to swing the game for or against you if your opponent has flooded the board
personally I like to play at LEAST 10 spells before I ever consider playing him
You can tell when your Yogg is ripe a number of different ways. He should smell like spells when you hold him up to your nose. He should be firm to the touch, but not hard. Check for bruises or damages before you cast him. Remember to support your local Yogg growers, and always go organic when you can. Best of luck!
