Witchwood NEWS!
[F2P] Eleburn Mage - works great even on highest ranks
[F2P] Secret Paladin
I just recently decided to make a Twitter account, guys, so feel free to be my first followers and make me happy ^^ @Kasai_HS. I will post decklists there over time. Mostly those I will use for tournaments, but you will find there some F2P or meme ones now and then. YouTube channel and hopefully Twitch stream will follow up so stay tuned!
Pull up a chair by the hearth!
Let me introduce myself. My gamer name is Kasai, I am from Slovakia and I gained the passion for card games with Magic:The Gathering, but let's talk about the Hearthstone. I play the Hearthstone since the open beta in January 14. I have multiple accounts on both EU and US servers. I reached Standard and Wild Legends several times, but I am not really fan of meta power-grinding as I rather think about cool and fun deck ideas.
Despite the Fact I am not the F2P player, but we, who are spending our money on the Hearthstone, we need you! Without F2P players would game as it is die since you are the wast majority of the Hearthstone community. My priority on the HearthPwn is to bring you guys playable F2P decks. I am making those time to time when I get new idea, sometimes just budgetized meta decks and sometimes the whole new archetype. All of them are well synergized and viable for casual play, quests or even climbing the rank 5 and higher if you are patient enough. I personally test them at rank 5 and never post anything below 50% winrate after at least 20 games.
Feel free to follow, comment or add me in game. I have all of my recent F2P decks in my decklist so if you want to ask anything about playstyle, mulligan or general tactics, go for it. I will write all of those if the deck gain some popularity.
Yours Kasai
Deck Intro
I was just watching a Blizzcon opening for the first time on Friday. Honestly I was expecting some boring cringe for no-lifers but it was whole different. I've had some good laugh (Someone from audience: "I love you Kaeo" Kaeo Milker - HotS team leader: "Thanks mom!"; Jeff Kaplan - OverWatch team leader: "If you don't know how Moira is spelled, it's OP AF" and many more) and as I have seen Marin's stats and that he is a F2P I've decided to brew something with him. Why Control Warrior you ask? Well Control decks are my absolute favorites as it makes you feel that you win/lose games due to your decisions and not due to card draw like in Aggro decks. And Warrior simlpy because almost nobody likes the poor Garrosh after Fiery War Axe nerf anymore.
I've tested this deck obviously without Marin the Fox (I've replaced him with The Lich King as I feel they have the most similar value) so there might be some tweaks after the release. Unlike my other decks, I've tested this one on ranks 13-11 because I was really busy recently and haven't got time for game, but basically it's early season so I was encountering the same level of players I would on rank 5 a week from now. For my big surprise it works way better than expected (14W-6L) so please give it a try.
Really cool deck, I definitely want to use it. But, is there any room for cards like Slam? I find that a lot of the time I lose using warrior because I can't remove the opponent's minion (Also, I suck). Additionally, what do you think about adding in Bloodmage Thalnos? I think he fits in the deck quite well.
And finally, could you please send me a guide as to how to play this deck? I really enjoy playing warrior, but whenever I do, I always lose. I would really appreciate it if I had finally found a deck that works for him.
Well its a F2p deck, so it would defeat the purpose by adding BT
Quite the contrary. This deck should serve as a baseline and both the creator and the commentors can figure out upgrades.
Being a f2p deck doesn't mean you're being restricted to commons and a spattering of rares, necessarily.
This is not a control warrior deck. It is more a tempo warrior. feelsbad u call it control warrior :P
It has something from both. I usually end up a game by turn 15-20 with 40 armor on my head and you definitely can't call this a midrange/tempo. But yeah there there always have to be that one guy who likes to play with words, right? :)
Well he's got a point. This deck I know relies on having board control early game and gaining board with Whirlwind cards to set up a frothing turn or rampage turn. In the end, it's honestly closer to midrange with inclusions like Bonemare and Marin.
Still, props on coming up with this sort of F2P style :D Cool deck.
Ok guys, let's set this thing out.
We have three basic archetypes - Aggro, Midrange and Control.
Now let's play Rock - Paper - Scissors: Aggro beats Control, Control beats Midrange, Midrange beats Aggro (Most of the time obviously it's not set in the stone though).
I've had no problem with very long games against Control decks (We were both fatiguing few times which you should never experiance playing any midrange deck) or 8-10 turns games against Midrange decks, but I suffered against aggro decks that rushed the board early. In these terms it is more like Control deck, that's why I called it Control deck. Arguments like "Hey it has Bonemare" or "Hey it doesn't have [insert 9-10 mana card here]" - I get them, but I don't take them. It's not about one card, but about deck as unit.
I admit it has cards like Frothing Berserker or Bloodhoof Brave like Midrange Warrior decks, but unlike them, it doesn't suffer on long runs.
Why i don't use Shield Slam? I would. I would even use Sleep with the Fishes and Brawl if ... well, look at the color of these cards. This is a F2P deck. My rules for F2P decks are under 1600 dust and no epics or legendaries as those are hard to get for very enw players. You can dissenchant some unplayable cards to craft rare. But it would take you to dust half of collection if you are new player to get epic.
I get your logic calling this deck a tempo, but I don't like the way you've said your opinion. As I said, it has something from both. But in general it feels more like Control deck for me and that's why it is Cotnrol deck for me .
What cards can i replace to fit shield slam and brawl?
Please make some non-budget replacements too =]
space for patches, rotface or lich king? i would like to use the legendaries i have you know :D
U NO TAKE MARIN
Hey, how good this is for actual laddering, guys?
I can see that you guys like the deck, so I will test it live, edit it a little and write guide and possible expensive replacements. But I am very busy in work these days so I can go for it during weekend.
Thanks for comments and suggestions!
Cheers!
Kasai
lost 5 times in a row went back to rank 15...this deck is too slow
In moments of despair, Crazed Alchemist it is also good to counter Doomsayer, very useful
