Hey guys, TheJordude here with a theorycrafted Standard format deck for the upcoming Whispers of the Old Gods set.

With the newly revealed Rogue card, Shadowcaster, Rogue has a lot of potential in being a top tier class again in competitive play. The card basically allows for crazy combo value like copying Edwin VanCleef, Gadgetzan Auctioneer, and what this deck is based on... Brann Bronzebeard!

The idea of this deck is to play similar to malygos or oil Rogue, which is to gain tempo on board with cheap, efficient spells, and combo to snowball ahead. So with this deck you will generally fight for board, gain tempo, buff C'Thun, draw through your deck with cycle spells and Gadgetzan Auctioneer, and once you acquired the full combo you nuke the board which should end the game.

The combo is pretty straight forward, either have Brann Bronzebeard stick on the board for a turn, or wait until turn 8 and play it with Shadowcaster. Shadowcaster will copy Brann twice due to his effect, so you will get 2 copies of 1 cost Brann Bronzebeards. Play Emperor Thaurissan so that the Brann Bronzebeards cost 0. Then play both of them along with C'Thun to get his battlecry 4x. C'Thun when buffed is a 10/10, so your bomb will be 40 damage onto your opponents board which in most cases will kill them, or wipe everything and get a lot of damage in.

This deck looks pretty tuned as it is so similar to to oil and malygos Rogue, except with a different finisher. Shadowcaster is also very flexible and useful, since you have 2 you can afford to use 1 of them on cards like Gadgetzan Auctioneer, Violet Teacher, etc.

Of course we have not seen the rest of the set or have we seen the nerf list, so I will update this deck continously to what I think is the best build, and of course I will test the deck physically when they are released :).
