After more than 500 games perfecting this deck, I finally got it to work and took it to legend. More info soon.
This is the combo you need to build to beat a control warrior that draws Justicar Trueheart
Anything can happen, indeed!
I believe this is going to be the deck list once standard comes into play. Sylvanas is going to see a lot of play in my opinion.
Yo what do you think about putting Darnassus Aspirant(s) for more ramp in here? Could work as a replacment for 2nd BGH or Ancient of War
Basically every deck has at least one taunt and as this deck focuses on combo you need as much value out of each card as you can get I assume.
Might want to get used to seeing him/playing him once standard format comes around. He is a great card to have in your deck.... I just feel like he was removed for a more optimal card to fit certain deck archetypes.
Druid of the Claw/Ancient of War - Combo Druid, Tirion/Belcher - Secret Paladin, Any minion that gets buffed by argus - Zoolock, Belcher/Corsair/Unstable Ghoul - Patron. And there are the targets for the main decks you see.
Black night is a very strong card that will play well in Standard. It only feels weird in this meta and make not mistake about you are already playing wild.
I replaced two cards, TBK and Ancient of War(with starfire and a second wildgrowth), and i just face a control warrior and got owned. Are those really that important? Also I drew my Harrison after he had gotten to use 3 different weapons, so I could have been unlucky. But I had Malygos, a moonfire and two roots, and was nowhere close to lethal. He was able to armor up each turn, I felt I couldn't keep up.
How in the actual fuck are you beating any sort of aggro?
i tried the standard list for this deck and won my first game against a control priest with maly + 2x moonfire + living roots the turn after i played alex and in the second game i was facing a aggro shaman and the only reason i won is because he didn't draw into doomhammer + i could heal up to 15 after he got me down to 2 the turn before. you have to be lucky, but its possible.
Have to agree, it doesn't work for me. I just get blasted.
This was my exact thought upon looking at this decklist.
I played the deck. I haven't lost yet (2 hunters, 2 shammys among other controls)
I'm confused, but I enjoy it! Hella fun (I play tons of malyrogue)
I dropped the TBK and Hjones and picked up a Belcher and an Alex; so far I've destroyed people not expecting it to be malydruid. Don't think people expect it to go past taunts (they're ready for traditional sroar)
EDIT: And dropped a War for Boom. No reason not to run boom.
thanks for giving me an idea how to play it! :D
Hey i dont have ancient of war. Do you think chillmaw would be a good replacement?
I've been playing around with this deck and it's a lot of fun. I'll have to see how your additions work. I had some success with Raven Idol and Gadgetzan Auctioneer because I kept running out of spells. Doomsayer is also something I've been thinking of adding to stave off aggro for a turn.
Seems like a really fun deck, could you possibly post a basic guide when you get the chance? How do you mulligan typically?
Always have wanted to play Maly druid. However, the inclusion of The Black Knight and Harrison (Both cards which I dont have) is interesting. Which one is more reliable ? Because I only have enough dust for 1 of the 2.
They are both tech and not seen very often lately, Black Knight especially. I recommend using your dust on cards that are generally more useful, or save your dust because a new expansion is due soon.
Get a Harrison first it will save you and throw draw at you. Given the new format I would advise grabbing a Black Knight when you can though. The need for a taunt killer is going to be even more relevant in the standards met.
I actually try dr.boom myself because is op, but war wins games against aggro.
I must admit, I've spent some time trying to get Malygos druid to work. And I never did.
I tip my at to you! Thanks for the list :)
