No one expects so much charge. Remember, when your opponent sees Warrior in ranked, they immediately expect either Control or Grim Patron. Use that to your advantage.
At its core, this is a burn deck. Virtually every card deals immediate damage to your opponent's face. You want to start off strong, dealing as much damage as possible in the early turns so that your opponent has to make bad plays in order not to die.
Mortal Strike and Nightblade are your only direct damage; most of the time you'll want to save those for a finisher since no one expects direct damage from Warrior.
Be smart with how your play your weapons - if your opponent has board control, play a weapon over a minion as it's less likely to be removed. In the early game, don't always hit face with your weapon if you don't have another weapon in hand. Fiery War Axe can be used to remove troublesome earlygame minions (Voidwalker, Northshire Cleric, Mana Wyrm).
After the first few turns, just go face with everything you have. Save Skillbeak for the inevitable turn 5 Sludge Belcher.
This deck is purposely low cost; if you don't care about that, Leeroy or Brawl might be a good idea.
If you don't have BRM, Arcane Golem can be a good substitute for Axe Flinger.
The ultrabudget (no Naxx/BRM) version can be found here http://www.hearthpwn.com/decks/247497-ultrabudget-charge-warrior
Finally able to get brm and make this full deck, trying it out now, murlocs and all ;p
went 0/2 to rogues with healbot first 2 games >> life is hard vs anything with taunts or heals but its fun anyway
Glad to see that you managed to make this deck - sorry about the trouble. Try to anticipate what your opponent will play in response to you, make sure you're mulliganing for correct earlygame drops. It can be tricky to figure out how to play your weapons and minions optimally when you're getting used to the deck. I took this version of the deck up to rank 8 before I started having trouble climbing, so I know it has pretty good matchups.
True it took me awhile to play this deck correctly not used to going face every single turn but it's getting better the more I play lol
I have fun with this deck after a few times playing it. I also threw 1 brawl in there, for 5 mana it has saved me many many games.
Also threw in acidic swamp ooze instead because too many classes with weapons DESTROY this build (better than bluegill imo)
What weapon classes did you find were particularly difficult? I agree that 1x Brawl can save you in a pinch, I just didn't put it in the default decklist because I'm trying to keep this deck cheap. I'll add a note at the bottom letting people know it's a good idea.
I had 1 hard fight with Shaman and Rogue thats pretty much what made me switch to acidic. You would think the classes with weapons would be good that they are hitting your minions but the difference between 1 or 2-3 hits with your charge monsters is how fast the opponent can take care of them. If they have no weapon most of your charge units will stay alive (vs these 2 classes anyway). For example Rogue will take your entire board out in 1 turn and still have 9 damage next turn o.o
I mostly had trouble with Shaman and rogue really, usually hunters and pally are not a bad matchup with this deck but again I think the acidic helps me a lot.
I understand to keep it cheap its why I really liked to play this deck, I am pretty new (So maybe my advice is not the best) and not much dust to go around. I just got lucky and opened up brawl one pack :)
ALSO: The latest update you made is pretty cool I liked the bloodsail raiders but she gets taken care of pretty easy with 3hp unless you turn it right after fiery axe and the shield block never really 'saved me' any games just prolonged a few (Usually I draw this and wish it was a 3mana minion ;-;) . Looks like I should buy some axe flingers
I actually have ~100% winrate vs Rogue, and in ranked shaman doesn't usually run Stormforged Axe. If you're having trouble vs Rogue, I'd say play more aggressively - because this is a burn deck, you completely ignore trading/board control after the first couple turns. Normally your opponent should be knocking on death's door turn 4 or 5.
If you don't have Axe Flinger, you could try Arcane Golem. One of my friends has been running this decklist with those instead, and he likes them.
Thanks for the feedback, it's good to hear other peoples' experiences with this deck so I can think about how to improve it.
It was Doomhammer that got me, just unlucky draws and feral spirits put me far behind by turn 5 than at that point he was taking care of everything I could lay down :( Maybe it was just an unlucky game but I still think the 3damage ooze is better than the 2 dmg charge murloc mostly because even if the ooze doesnt charge its still 3 damage that needs to be taken care of (That can not be pinged) for 2mana also weapon burn = $$$$
I get the point of the deck though and ooze doesnt really fit into the 'end goal' for this deck, but I would say I think it has saved me more games than that murloc would have. Just my opinion.
The only problem I have with rogue is if I DONT manage to kill by turn 5-7, he will combo my face for 30+DMG lol I probably just don't understand rogue well enough to play vs it some games.
Crafting Cost: 520 Lol. Less than one epic and a rare.
