UPDATE: I've spent all day messing around with different variations of the deck, including adding Ignis, Lor'themar, and other tech cards. Check out some great games and how to set up win conditions versus different decks (timestamped video)!

Intro

Hello! My name is Vee; I go by theoddone23. I am a multiple Legend Hearthstone player who recently returned to Hearthstone after a lengthy break. I started playing Hearthstone in September 2015, and I first hit Legend in September 2016. After years of competing, streaming and deck crafting, I took a break in 2019, and this is my first deck after being back to the game for 2 months (2x Legend since then). My highest reached rank so far is #97, and I did it with Mid-Range Shaman back in the day :) I am also a full-time Hearthstone/variety streamer. You can find my stream here if you want to learn more about me and see what decks I play. Also, you can follow my Twitter, where I post all my updates!

About the deck

This deck is a variation of an already-existing Highlander Hunter archetype, but with an Elemental twist, thanks to the Showdown In The Badlands mini-set cards like TherazaneStone Drake and others. Due to somewhat of a difficult time drawing cards, I've decided to cut a lot of less efficient spells, and simply run Magatha, Bane of Music which is proving to be quite successful!

Side Board

General Mulligan

Obviously, this depends largely on the matchup, but I personally tend to not keep the greedy cards in my starting hand - we've got too much of that going on already :)

Q&A

Q: Why Yogg-Saron, Unleashed?
A: It's another form of board clearing. The ability to have minions smash against each other on a board full of dragon taunts is invaluable. Versus control decks, you generally want to keep it for late game and steal their more valuable cards. Tentacles are rarely used.

Q: Why King Krush and Mister Mukla if you're not running Stranglethorn Heart?
A: The Heart would make the deck more greedy, regardless of Tradeable. The synergy with Faithful Companions is enough, and more often than not, you get meaningful damage output or burn an important card with Mukla.

Q: Is Therazane worth it?
A: Absolutely. He's your Lor'themar Theron for Ellies!

That's all there is to it for now. I'll continue to update the deck with winrates, tips and replacements, especially after the meta stabilizes after a few days. Let me know what you think in the comments - I'm looking forward to reconnecting with the community :)
