The goal of this Festival of Legends Standard Hearthstone Tony Rogue OTK combo deck is to use Tony King of Piracy combined with The Jailer!
We do this by playing Kael'thas Sinstrider, breaking a Record Scratcher, Tony King of Piracy, The Jailer, and Shadowstep to destroy the opponent's deck!
Super fun meme deck! Good luck!
Why do you even need Kaelthas in this combo?
So that you can play The Jailer for free - it's a One Turn Kill (OTK) combo, that otherwise couldn't go off without the free minion Kael brings.
Um... play Tony, refresh 5 mana, play Jailer. What's the problem?
Well, to start with... your idea requires you to make it to Turn 10.
Do you play the current meta? When was the last time you even SAW turn 10? Because I can't recall the last time I did...
On Turn 8, Play Kael, bust a primed Scratcher for 5 to drop Tony, then Jailer is free and you Shadowstep Tony, game over.
The text of Scratcher is the key - you don't have to play PRIMED combo cards... just combo cards in general. You can burn off all your 1-mana combos, plus whatever Shadow has copied, plus whatever Door has pulled and duped, and Scratcher is ready to go before you know it.
The real weakness to this is A) with only one copy of Scratcher (and really only enough combo cards to reasonably prime it once for the combo), the deck is very susceptible to the ETC/Rustrot tech defense I see quite often now and B ) not getting at least mildly lucky with your concoctions to keep aggro at bay... because if I haven't won with one of my current aggro decks by Turn 8, either I drew horribly or I just totally sucked.
Lastly... it's a meme deck, it's not really meant to be micromanaged and all that... if you want to play Tony, Scratcher, Jailer on T10, enjoy... you asked why Kael is in the deck, I answered... so you can win 2 turns faster.
I thought I missed something because you said "otherwise couldn't go off without ... Kael". It's just for speeding up the combo. Okay
