As i promised, here's the guide!
Deck difficulty: Hard
Basic Mulligans: Concoctor, Ghoulish Alchemist, Potion Belt, Potionmaster Putricide, Vile Apothecary, Astalor Bloodsworn
You never wan't in your hand in turn 1: Garrote, Silvermoon Arcanist
Choose your style:
Agressive:
If you play that style, you need to go for damage and card draw. Everytime if you can, choose double damage Bubbling Concoction or Gleaming Concoction. You can mix this cards with Dreadful Concoction. Always hit the face. This style working well against rogues, freeze mages, or frost deathknight.
Tempo:
Very similas to aggressive style, but you should go for some controll. Slimy Concoction is working very well here. Don't go for full combo, just use your card when you can. This style working very will against aggro deck's.
Controll & OTK:
This style the hardest one. Hardest but deadliest. Always go for insane card draw with double Gleaming Concoction or Draw and Destroy mix, and always clear the board. You want to reach the 10. turn. With this conditions: Shadowcrafter Scabbs active, and in your hand: atleast 1 Preparation, Shadow of Demise, 2x Garrote (atleast 1 with reducerd cost), 2x Silvermoon Arcanist, Bloodmage Thalnos, and 1 card for draw, it doesnt matter wich card, you could trade or draw, etc.. with minimal cards left in your deck.
Carefull with Shadow of Demise, because if you have and use an unmixed concoction it will be copy it, and the next concoction you got will be mixing with Shadow of Demise!
Some advices: When you agonise on overdraw because of concoctions always check your hand, if you have an unmixed concoction the next one will mix with it, so your hand not growing.
Dont be afraid to use card drawing cards, just use it when you can, you cant go out of cards, if you draw your whole deck its a win win situation because of your garrote combo.
Some basic combo:
1.) Shadowcrafter Scabbs active, and in your hand: atleast 1 Preparation, Shadow of Demise, 2x Garrote (atleast 1 with reducerd cost), 2x Silvermoon Arcanist, Bloodmage Thalnos, and 1 card for draw, it doesnt matter wich card, you could trade or draw, etc.. - Hero power, play Talnos, and 2x Arcanist, Preparation + Garrote, other garrote, Shadow of Demise (Garrote), and Trade. 7x9 damage output = 63
2.) Shadowcrafter Scabbs with Astalor Bloodsworn on the board. If you reach the 10th turn, its 32 damage.
3.) Ghoulish Alchemist with Potion Belt
4.) Potionmaster Putricide with double Dreadful Concoction
This deck has the most flexibility, possibility, what I ever created.
Gameplay:
What is the purpose of the loot hoarder? Aren't there better options?
Hey, it has been a while since I played garrote rogue, I think this could be the sleeper deck but it is pretty hard to play imo. I had nice two clutch games, I think in the first one I missed lethal by just not playing second garrote, definitely it is hard to think about all the damage output. Will play with it more too I really like it when I have to think playing hearthstone deck (not too usual nowadays)
anyway if anyone wants to see the deck in action you can check it here :
nice deck, had a lot of fun playing it. But don't craft it if you don't have cards. At ranks from diamond 5, this does not work, you will simply lose to everyone
Played 5 games and I lost all of them. Made several mistakes (including the stupid preparation + coin). But I can tell how much potential this deck has. A LOT of flexibility. Pure skill, the type of game I like, and I'm clearly lacking it until I get more practice. Garrote Rogue was so fun to play and I'm having a lot of fun with this one! Will keep trying.
Sure, playing with this is not easy, you always need to calculate your opponent style, next steps, etc... Try to avoid mistakes, its really important if you play this deck. :)
Sorry but this decik in late game is usless, any control deck will destroy him without any problem.
Sorry, but then you doing something wrong. Ofc you cant win all of the games, but what you said its not true.
Not true. The deck *IS* a bit random... as you have to hope to get the right concoctions for your play style, as well as timely Garrote draws for lethal, against a powerful control deck.
But I'm not even that good and I just beat a Guff Druid dropping multiple legendary dragons per turn with this deck... this deck is truly one of the ones that embodies the, "As long as I've got 1 health, you're dead" manner of play.
Every decision you make with this deck has to be weighted towards managing the on-board threat level versus maximizing the killing draw later in the game.
gotta play it more
I don't really understand the combo? can you poste the full guide plz? :) thx very much
Door of Shadows / Shadow of Demise + Garrote:
Thalnos / Silvermoon Alchemist, hand full of draw concoctions and a ton of bleeds in your deck.
I've been experimenting with garrote the past few days with various draw engines and mix of arcanist/guild trader and your list feels really solid. I didn't want to craft the Vile Apothecary so I subbed in Reconnaissance because the card is busted and it gives more flexibility.
How is the reconaissance working so far?
