Formerly titled "Budget Knuckles Hunter", the goal of this deck is to find the sweet spot of affordability and deadliness, in a Dirty Rat meta.
For example, instead of Goblin Prank, the deck uses Rocket Augmerchant and Animated Broomstick. Instead of playing Scarlet Webweaver, we buff Knuckles in-hand in order to reduce the cost of the eventual combo turn.
Also, this deck is not limited to playing Knuckles as an OTK. The inclusion of Ramkahen Wildtamers allows you to play several buffed Knuckles, to pressure your opponent from the midgame on.
The plan:
- Draw Knuckles.
- Buff Knuckles.
- Copy Knuckles.
- Ook 'em in the dooker. Repeatedly.
In the mulligan, look for the Trueaim Crescent and Scavenger's Ingenuity. If you find both, keep a Wildtamer. Against token and pirate decks, maybe keep Grievous Bite or Explosive Trap.
Remember, your health is a resource; you're just stalling long enough to put together a lethal combo on turn 6, 7 or 8. This deck doesn't give you a lot of survivability beyond that point. So swing face with the weapon early, and squeeze in a hero power or two, if you can. Don't float mana if you can avoid it. Also, don't get greedy with the Wildtamers. Copying a 5-attack Knuckles on turn 3 is plenty good, and can save you from Dirty Rat.
If you like the combo, and have a bit more dust to spend, Deathstalker Rexxar is a nice upgrade for the deck, and is well supported by the Augmerchants, Brooms, Wildtamers and Crescents. Swap with the Mad Scientist (to improve the selection from Stitched Tracker), one of the secrets, or Flare.
What if our opponent doesn't have enough minions
Playing the deck is a little like a game of "Chicken". Do you have enough health to leave some enemy minions on board long enough to assemble the combo? But some opponents just don't play minions; many Druids, Priests once they've played Shadowreaper, Odd Warrior, etc.
For those matchups, try teching in a Saronite Taskmaster or two. Maybe in place of a Rocket Augmerchant, or Grievous Bite.
(Except Odd Warrior. Just concede.)
Thanks!
Thinking about it some more, Gravelsnout Knight is probably a better card for that situation.
