Solid gameplay above in this video from KDK, a good example of how to play the deck efficiently. I would've made a few different moves and I play it bit more aggressively at times but his pacing was good!
Currently in diamond 8 getting stats on the legend climb.
edit* Diamond 4
edit* Got legend ending with 77% WR
Mulligan Keeps/Tips:
Twin Slice: Keep if you have Questing and 1 drop off the coin, keep 90% of time on coin
Battlefiend: Always
Ur'zul: Usually keep but if you have too many 1 drops you can pass it
Shadowhoof: In matchups where you need the +1 attack early to trade or to activate Battlefiend
Crimson Sigil Runner: If its on the left side of your hand, or it will be easy to play from the left or right in following turns
Sightless Watcher: Always
Umberwing: Always
Spectral Sight: Same idea as "Crimson Sigil Runner"
Chaos Strike: In matchups where you need to trade early, like the mirror match)
Mana Burn: Good in the mirror and great combo with questing, especially if you can questing + coin mana burn + twin slice/secondslice)
Altruis: Usually don't keep this card unless you're on the coin with a good curve
Eye Beam: If its on the left of your hand but other than that toss it for minions or spells that cycle
Questing Adventurer: Keep on the coin every time, keep if you have a 1, 1, 3 or 1, 2 , 3 curve. Also great combo with twin slice
Kayn: Only keep on the coin if you have a curve as well
Metamorphosis: Never
Skull of Gul'dan: Keep if its on the left of your hand and you have 1 and 2 drop minions to play
Questing Combo's: Turn 3 - Questing + Twin Slice/Second Slice (This is risky, I wouldn't normally do this unless you feel like they have no removal)
Turn 3 - Questing + Coin + Mana Burn + Twice Slice/Second Slice (Only second slice if you need to kill something or you feel like the extra life will get Questing out of removal range)
Turn 5 - Questing + Mana Burn + Twin Slice/Second Slice + 1 drop (If the 1 drop is another mana burn thats perfect on a semi clear board)
Reminder: Questing is the core heavy hitter in this deck so you usually want to be patient with setting it up properly. I would recommend waiting until you can safely get him on the board before you just slap it down turn 3 with double twin slice. Try to aim for getting it to around 5/5-6-6 stats on a clear board, you can be riskier if you mana burn them low enough.
I'll go more in depth if we get this more upvotes, feel free to add me on battle.net if you have questions. I also offer coaching. Battle.net: Jai#11293
Why no Frenzied Felwing or it doent worth a slot in this deck?
I personally don't have the card, but if you have it I would replace shadowhoof with it. After the nerf's I'm not sure which one will be better.
Hey guys,
I tried out this deck and made a showcase of it! If you are interested in a gameplay video with commentary in legend ranks you can check it out bellow. I had a nice game against murloc paladin where I actually played mana burn on turn 1 and it actually worked well!
I hope you can enjoy it :)
I truly enjoy your deck. I am wondering though what your win rates were against Warlock. Having a hard time. Any tips would be awesome!
Really effective and fun deck. Pretty underrated, one of the best DH aggro decks I've seen so far, if not the best.
Is the metamorphosis needed? Ive heard the card doesnt have a high winrate and i dont really wanna waste dust. Any replacements? Deck seems great gj :)
I'm not the deck author but it seems to be included in many of the aggro decks. I just crafted it. You can probably manage without it but I don't think you will regret crafting it:) Maybe substitute it for Glaivebound Adept or another Skull?
It gives the deck some reach. Helped me alot so far. :)
Metamorphosis definitely gives a lot of reach, you're basically paying 7 mana for pyroblast damage over two turns. With a Skull of Gul'dan proc on it that makes it 4 mana total to play. But if you really don't want to craft it, like Nosbled mentioned Glaivebound or another Skull of Gul'dan would be good substitutes. Even the 5 mana weapon that lets you keep attacking if you kill minions would be solid.
Love the inclusion of Questing Adventurer. Nice deck.
Regarding Consume Magic, Ur'zul Horror, Shadowhoof Slayer, Sightless Watcher and Mana Burn. Do you think all of them are crucial? Shadowhoof and Ur'zul feel pretty weak in a DH meta b/c of their stats, but then again there aren't as many DHs now as it was before. Also 1-mana cards are good with Questing Adventurer.
Do you think Sightless Watcher is better than Furious Felfin? Sometimes Watcher is just a 3/2 while Felkin impacts the board immediately. Thoughts?
Consume magic is probably the best silence card in the game, 1 mana silence/draw card for an aggro deck is perfect when trying to get through taunts/reborn/deathrattle cards. For Ur'Zul getting two 1 drops for one is perfect for questing/altruis fuel (this card slot is flexible though). Shadowhoof can be clutch at times and offers a decent turn 2 answer to battlefiend and other x/2 health minions (also flexible slot, could run Frenzied Felwing or Blazing Battlemage). Sightless watcher is card selection and curve fixing, which is really important when trying to set up future turns. I would take Sightless Watcher over Furious Felfin for that reason, plus Felfin is a card used to trade most of the time since it has rush. Mana burn is a huge tempo swing early game if its followup to playing minions or even a big card draw turn.
Sidenote: If I had Frenzied Felwing I would cut Shadowhoof for it
Hope my answers made sense :D
I'm in the same boat lol, I don't have Frenzied Felwing yet. The 1-drops will have to do for now. I saw a version of this deck that teched 1x Guardian Augmerchant, although it doesn't give your hero attack the ping and divine shield could be useful I guess!
Yes you made perfect sense, thanks a lot! Sightless Watcher seems to be the better fit in this kind of deck, Felfin is more controlling.
Possible to write a guide?
Just posted a pseudo guide with some tips :)
Tthx for the deck ! Wish you would tell us a little more about the mulligan, and the best plays....
Gonna give it a try anyway.
Cheers.
I'll try to write up a little guide for whoever is interested
Pure skill.
I got legend using your deck and now I'm retarded.
