Hey kids! Do you like hearthstone but hate people?
Do you hate everyone else who plays hearthstone and want to make them completely irrelevant?
Then boy howdy do I have a deck for you!
With Single-player Mage you can spend the first 4 turns killing minions then the rest of the game pretending your opponent (worthy my a**) doesn't even exist except as a Target dummy for your frostbolts and sweet sweet apprentices! Best part is with your deck refreshing every 6 cards every spell you draw after turn 2-3 counts towards that ridiculously broken mage quest!
What that's your say? "Why not run Ice Block"? Because it's garbage that both only procs on your opponent turn and sits dead in your hand if you already have one, that's way too much interactivity for them to be doing for an irrelevant entity!
Oh, but what about Gadgetzan Auctioneer?? Also garbage! He mills the quest reward and fills your hand with more of himself and quests you can't play.
Simulacrum?? Also Garbage, better to run Arcane Intellect and just draw more apprentices, you never run out.
So go on kids! Bring your opponent down to one and then play the bonus mini-game: "How many consecutive turns can you take until they surrender???", It's fun for the whole family!
i believe Blizzard does such a great job with Hearthstone on a continuing basis, but they definitely deserve some criticism with the Tavern Brawls. I had a daily quest to win 5 times....now why the heck would i want to win 5 times.. tavern brawl is boring
They have to justify whatever department works on it I suppose
Even a person like me that doesn't love playing mage decks, it's a really fun deck. Not for the opponent though :)
Man! I love the deck. But more than that I loved the description. That perfectly suits me. Apart from that, Mage quest is my fav.
You might want to reconsider that "Ice Block is garbage" statement since you'll really need to survive until turn 6-7.
Discolock will still Soulfire and "fist" you, Rogues with 5-7 Arcane Giant on turn 3-4 will still make you suffer and no, you cannot fatigue Mages with Ice Block because their deck gets reloaded on their turn. They can only get unlucky and not draw another Ice Block for 10-11 cards.
Yeah literally over the course of the day yesterday the Meta shifted and decks went from T6 kills to t4, ice block host REALLY shows the game down.
Had to upvote it. I hate tavern brawls so much, so anything that gives me a super easy mode win in a few turns is worth the upvote haha. Maybe Arcane Intellect could be taken out for something? Maybe even a Coldlight Oracle lol, although it's not necessary.
Nah, spell synergy is too good, I initially wanted cold light but as I played the deck more realized I didn't need it
Lmao this deck is pure evil XD loving it right now
I wonder how much total damage you can deal with that combo. It's huge amount of damage, no doubt, but it's finite anyway, because you can draw only 5 cards after playing all 6 cards, therefore you won't be able to draw your quest after certain amount of iterations.
Well with the quest pop you can always hit "next turn" to draw 6, you're right though the amount of damage you could potentially churn out with this deck is outrageous.
Only thing I really want to ask on this deck is what happens if they kill the apprentices early. Or do you hold them until turn 4, play two and then go off?
Hilarious thing I discovered with my version: In a match with an Ice block user or a deck with excessive life gain, you win with Research Project, since the reload only happens on your turn. You can still fatigue them out.
Upvoted.
I typically hold onto them until about turn 5-6, if you can play 3 on turn 6 it'll let you snowball and pop at least 2 quests before you run out of steam, but that's fine because now you get to take 3 turns after your opponent takes one and build that momentum back up!
Also I really don't like Ice block, I don't like my opponent having the opportunity to rope me out of protest. With this deck you get to waste everyone else's time, not the other way around. Thanks!
Wow
