Balance Changes Later in January
Blizzard Dev Aleco, Lead Final Design, posted on twitter about some upcoming Balance changes. Unfortunately they are planned for "later this month" if you were hoping for something more immediate. Read his messages below!
Quote from BlizzardHad some great chats today about our next balance patch, which is coming later this month. We kept a close eye on all of your feedback over the break and will be keeping it in mind as we work on the update.
Quote from BlizzardAs mentioned in the patch notes, we'll be looking to do some more spicy changes than we did in the previous patch.
Quote from BlizzardA soft goal for the patch will be to slow the game speed down slightly
there is an easy way to solve the problem of crazy card combinations that can occur, don't play WILD mode switch to STANDARD. people who enter WILD are rather aware of what cards are there, so they should not complain about it later because you have a choice (I don't like a lot of cards whose mechanics were toxic to me so when they go from standard to wild I don't go wild to complain about them, I choose standard to not worry about them anymore.)
Standard is boring as F, I don't want to play a game mode where there is so little cards and where everyone play the same decks
Just re-balance or ban some wild cards that broke the game such as Shadow Essence
Shadow essence is the problem
You've clearly never played the deck. Dredge is 2 out of 30. And there are 4 more cards which discover cards from your deck, so total 6 of 30 to set it up - this is no big odds by far (compare it to Rogue cycle capabilities for example). Also, you have 3 minion cards (2x Ghun + 1 Neptulon). If you draw even 2 of them in the first 4-5 turns - you have to concede. There are a multitude of resurrect spells which if you have not played Shadow Essence are dead cards, cause you have nothing to resurrect. Check HSReplay - the winrate of the deck is 56-58% which is quite low, especially compared to other retarded aggro/combo decks.
I agree it is frustrating when they get a good draw and pull out Ghuun/Neptulon at turn 3-4, but this happens far less frequently than you think.
All in all there are MANY far more broken cards in the current wild meta, so your whining against Shadow Essence is not really warranted.
Shadow Essence itself is a ok card but Illuminate make it broken just ban Illuminate and no more T2/T3 Neptulon
I am well aware that many fans of this mode will not like my comment ... but for me personally and most players this mode isn't very interesting due to the greater bullshit that can be generated there and which you complain about
It is not about the winrate. It is about the bullshit
Priest as a class will never receive a nerf or rebalance, cause it was meant to be broken. The very problem that was created in Ben Brodes era and prolonged to this day. Cards that are getting banned in wild are purely because they are problem to priest playerbase and fanbase.
Long story short, changes to manacheating mechanics related to priest class will most likely never be addressed.
We can just hope that TenCentzzard will employ somebody with backbone, competent enough to make a change.
I mean i find big priest so annoyng and high roll style against a lot of archetypes..but it's not ideal against aggro... Even with those early game helps... A good aggro is favoured against Big priest and that is fact
Yeah, but the counter-point to that is that Brann is fine and Shockspitter is the problem.
Simply put, the cards that can abuse Brann to become finishers are the ones that are the problem (Guff, Shockspitter, Astalor) because they’re solitary cards specifically used for finishing games. Cards like this shouldn’t exist. Hearthstone shouldn’t be a case of; when I draw (x) card I win. It’s incredibly unfun and uninteractive and it’s insane that they consistently print cards like this seemingly every single expansion.
Except Brann is not fine. Numerous other cards have been nerfed specifically because Brann has made them beyond broken, like Denathrius and Anubrekhan.
Brann is quite clearly the problem.
I honestly hope blizzard doesn't listen to any of you guys .. Jeez I swear to God if this game was balanced by its players we would be playing vanilla minions and the biggest turn would be coining out a yeti.
and that would be awesome!!
go play classic
Too much draw. Too much discount.
There's a ton of things that need nerfs in hunter, warlock, druid, rogue, and DH. The only thing that needs a very substantial buff is death knight. It's like the class was completely designed around being great at arena and nothing else. All of the cards are good, but none of them are great. There are no combos. It's just pure vanilla. Playing death knight is like a blast from the past of playing Hearthstone decks that were around in the first couple years of launch while everyone else is playing all this broken OTK unstoppable combo BS.
There's no combos because there's just one set of cards out. The problem is they've allowed the combos with other classes to fester to such an unreasonable degree that any midrange deck that relies on board control or tempo has been pushed out of the game. That's why burn frost DK is the only viable deck right now.
DH literally just did 70+ hand damage on turn 10. There are no problems in this game at all and 30 hp is absolutely reasonable. Lololol. Won’t be spending another penny on this game. standard has been an absolutely pathetic excuse for “balanced” for over a year.
Bomb Warlock can do the same. These combo decks are getting out of control.
Okay, blizzard needs to stop releasing expansions before christmas if they're going to be out of office for several weeks. Even then, it's several weeks vacation, then several more weeks of dealing with this meta.
Wanna fix things?
-Cap mana cheat to (But not less than 1) unless a card specifically states 0.
-Start putting a ton of crap stat'd packfiller minions and spells in during core rotation (I'm talking dozens). Mecha-shark was a problem last year cause the mech discover pool was tiny with mechs, and just about every mech in standard was REALLY good. Same thing for spells, if you use discover, there needs to be more trash. Evolving a 10 mana (which was cheated out for 2 mana) gnoll should have the risk of getting a low stat'd minion, not an 8/8 giant every time. All of rogue's burgle stuff should be at risk for summoning trash, not premium stat'd minions and spells most of the time.
-Speaking of discover. STOP PRINTING SO MUCH OF THIS. It's been a problem for years now. We should be able to run our opponents out of resources.
-Powercreep is a major issue. Tone it down.
-Taunt minions have never gotten powercrept, which is why you rarely see them and why aggro tends to run rampant nowadays.
