This artwork is so same ish. I can barely visually tell the classes cards apart.
This seems strong on paper, but the Dragon legendary in this expansion doesn't seem like the big payoff card to make this whole Dragon Archetype appealing. Paly probably stuck with The Jailer deck for a good while, which is really sad. None of Pala decks will make the cut to Tier 1.
Exactly, why would they print self damaging cards with 0 synergy I just don't understand their logic. We want a control late game Paladin card that can swing it back in our favor if we did X throughout the game! They keep making Paladin dedicate their win condition on board and no big late game drop to win the game. Now every class has a way to clear the board, so WHY is Paladin stuck with the same concept!
So bad in current hs
The fact that it doesn't count itself is what dooms it.
You do realize the wording is 'summon' , right ?
We shall see
This will probably be too slow. On average it's a 4 mana 3-5 that will give 1 or 2 dragons taunt and DS on a later turn.. It will be so awkward to play this on turn 4 and not being able to combo it with a dragon. Or drawing it and having no other dragons in hand. Even when combo'd immediately when you have 9 or 10 mana, it's just not very impactful for this mana cost..
EDIT: I just realized Onyxian Warder is still in the game, this would actually be the absolute perfect follow-up card and could by itself make this card worth running!
Oh lord I forgot about Onyxian Warder, insane find my friend.
Yea that is for sure the most realistic and most reliable follow up combo. Sure, it can be good, but if the rest of the Dragon deck doesn't get the job done then it's like... whatever.
I wonder of Anachronos sending a dragon to the future, and then it coming back counts as a summon...
Cause then:
- Have a dragon on board
- Play Anachronos, Dragon on board goes poof
- next turn play Timewarden
- next turn Dragon returns and....? Gets Taunt and DS maybe?
Would be a fun interaction. And if it's the Daring Drake it has rush now too.
Exactly what I just posted on the Anachronos card reveal haha. I love the idea because Anachronos allows you to summon that board and imagine playing Onyxia the Broodmother after Timewarden :O
Too slow, none of those Fat Dragons are gonna be good unless when cheated out earlier.
Also the above explained example requires a lot of Setup and planning, usually opponent will clear out your Dragons from board, so if you can send back just one Dragon would be already the most common scenario most of the times.
Then you play Anachronos, then the turn after you play Timewarden , you throw back one Dragon that gets Taunt and Divine Shield. Not an amazing Payoff at all, tbh
This requires a dedicated dragon deck, and I think if any dragon Paladin will be viable it will be a Control Paladin, running only the minimal amount of dragons necessary.
kinda slow for board recovery, seems like a mid-rangy win-more
I don't really like this trend of cards that cost x mana but it would better if you could play them x+boh turn later
Would've been cool if there was a spell that let you summon different dragons like druid's 2☆
seems decent like bubblebot but in the future instead of right now
