22.6 Patch Notes - Expansion Pre-Order, Mercenaries & Battleground Changes & More!
Blizzard just published patch notes for a patch 22.6 that is now live! Let's take a look at what's in there.
Important Mobile Update
Quote from BlizzardHello all,
We identified an issue with our mobile version of the 22.6 patch. We’ve fixed the issue and resubmitted the patch to the mobile storefronts, but it can take some time for those storefronts to update. We expect the 22.6 patch to become available over the next few days, as those storefronts update.
Please be aware that until the mobile patch is available, updating to 22.6 on desktop will block you from being able to play Hearthstone on your mobile device. We advise any players who plan to play on mobile to wait until the 22.6 patch is available on all their devices before updating.

Book of Mercenaries—Dawngrasp
The Battle for Alterac Valley is over. Friends and foes have fallen. The mage Varden Dawngrasp of Quel’Thalas now has the difficult task of keeping the peace between the mercenaries long enough to stop the dragons and save the world! No big deal. Can they lead the raid against Onyxia and Kazakusan, restore the fallen naaru, and save Xyrella’s daughter? Find out when Book of Mercenaries—Dawngrasp, the final chapter, launches on March 15th. Defeating all 8 bosses in this linear adventure will reward 1 Mage pack, containing only Mage cards from Standard.
Special Dwarf Skins Legendary Quest Chain
Once the patch launches, you’ll be able to complete a Legendary Quest chain awarding cosmetic skins for some of your favorite Hearthstone Dwarves. Complete this 5-part Legendary Quest chain to get three Tavish Hunter Skins, a Brann Battlegrounds Skin, and a Golden Vanndar Legendary Mercenary Portrait!
Acquiring any Portrait of a Mercenary unlocks use of that Mercenary with that Portrait. In special cases like this where you might get a special Portrait before the base Portrait for that Mercenary, you will only be able to play with your special Portrait, and you will still be able to receive the base Portrait from Mercenaries products. If you already own this Vanndar Portrait when you earn it from this Quest, you will receive 100 Legendary Vanndar Coins, instead.

I was really excited reading the patch notes in hopes of some big changes for Mercenaries but.... nothing. Feels like the rate of new Mercenaries is way too fast. Oh well, I had a lot of fun when it was first introduced at least.
I see some interesting days for BG content creators for saying Baby Krush.
For example "I have baby krush" ... dangerous :D
I see Sir Finley, so will the other adventurers appear in this expansion or the new core set?
Hope so
They are still not going to fix the "new cards" bug in your collection, huh?
They are. It is stated right there in blue... Even easy to find, second to last point in the bug fixes.
My client was updated and it was still there.
Unmark everything from "new" by hovering over them and do a relog. It is fixed. (finally, it was annoying as hell)
Haters gonna hate...
Interesting BGs changes. Sad to see Tidehunter go. Both those new murlocs look strong, as does baby Krush - though has the notable drawback of needing space. Rattler isn't ridiculous without Maexxna. Not sad to see big attack murloc fellow go. Friend of a friend feels very swingy.
Acolyte was always a decently strong TT1, now it's a slightly weak TT2? Look at harvest golem, identical but without tribe, with added taunt instead. Strongshell always nice to see buffed, Mythrax has always been a bit slow, and this probably won't change that too much. Nosy will remain chaff, I suspect.
Sorry did you not see him get replaced by swampstriker, a murloc with even bigger attack?
Swampstriker feels like much better design. Murk-eye really needed to go first and hope your opp doesn't start slaying your other murlocs quickly, with minimal real relevance after the initial. Swampstriker gets bigger, yes, but takes investment and maintains across turns.
I was mainly not sad to see murk-eye go because it's a pretty mediocre card that - at least IMO - never really felt that strong when you can't target specific enemies, nor particularly well integrated design with the mode.
Blademaster Okani seems like a 2/6 with a negligible bonus. When the last time Mages used Counterspell outside of a secret deck? A neutral counterspell with a body isn’t that exciting.
I guess you can counter a minion with it but so many decks use fodder minions these days so they can always check with an armor vendor or any other cheap minions. Aggro won’t care at all about counterspell or counter minion.
Rotations are coming, but I still believe this card is just a pack filler. At least the other free legendarys we got were interesting and saw play
Edit: right, I didn’t even talk about how it needs to survive to even counter anything lol. I bet aggro will prefer to get one of their minions countered than to waste 6 damage on this thing.
Edit2: I guess you can use this as another creative way to build a hostage situation Shaman Shudderwok deck
imma make a bold prediction and say he's gonna be nuts. everybody gonna hate that card.
I agree with you. Seems like an above average effect to me. We need nore of those "secretly pick" cards.
When is the last time you saw a card that countered minions?
Oh right.
Good for them. Although my assumption was not entirely without base, it's easily the biggest flop and the most shameless cashgrab since the game's release.
At the start no. Now it is a stupid shameless cashgrab. Or even worse, a robbery.
So Submersible Chef refunds itself with a possibility to get you some really good stuff? Isn't that like way too strong?
What do you mean by "refunds itself"? It's a buddy, not a regular minion.
