Lead Designer Alec Dawson Leaves Hearthstone Team
Alec Dawson, Lead Designer Final Design, is joining a new Unannounced Project at Blizzard and leaving the Hearthstone team. His timely updates on upcoming Balance changes will be missed!
✨Career Update✨: Today is my last day on Hearthstone. Working on Hearthstone was a dream but I’ve decided to chase after some new dreams. I’ll be joining an Unannounced Project at Blizzard and reuniting with some of my favorite people. Incredibly excited, so much to learn!

Lookout for future final comms from @Chakki_HS and @GallonHS. And lastly, just want to say thank you to the Hearthstone community. Working on this game was an absolute joy ❤️.

inb4 Hearthstone 2
Hope they reveal it at Blizzcon
Do you guys not have Hearthstone Lead Designers?
na na na na, na na na na, heyy eyyy eyy, goodBye!
Not sure if this is positive news... Kotick who clearly seems more and more involved, hiring the new lead designer will spell trouble...
I'll probably get downvoted but i'm ok with this. I don't get the impression that he particularly enjoys his work and even if he does, he doesnt seem comfortable with design and balance. Good luck man but I hope we get some nice replacements.
- Captain! Is that an iceberg?
- It's fruit. You only see fruit!!!!
It doesn't seem like a loss.
THANKS GOD
Good riddance. Game is going in a shit direction. New blood is needed.
HS2 is brewing!
Ah yes, one by one. Wonder what's actually happening...
The cynic in me thinks it will be a mobile game.
The optimist in me thinks it'll be a looter shooter or BOTW clone (if it has gacha elements, put that in the cynic pile).
Or it could be a Genshin Impact clone and be both :-/ also nice username, im a big Glassjaw fan
This mainly makes me curious.. what is Blizzard working on? Any ideas?
I'd love to see Blizzard discovering new (sub)genre or making a flagship for an underrepresented (sub)genre but I doubt they are still able to do this. It isn't Blizzard of 1990s or 2000s
Sadly, some boring mobile game is more likely
Just go and browse some patent databases and look for registered domains and stuff. Companies cant keep secrets these days unless they want to risk the loss of rights and domain names.
overwatch again, a mobile diablo game for china, diablo 4, and whatever this is going to be
Wishing him the best in his new position with Blizzard! :)
