Alliestrasza and Lt. Eddy Cancel Card Reveals over Blizzard Allegations and Law Suit
Content Creators Alliestrasza and Lt. Eddy, who were both scheduled to have card reveals today both decided to not do their reveals on the scheduled time due to news that broke about a law suit against ActivisionBlizzard about sexual harrassment and gender based discrimination.
Here is a link to a story on The Verge which has all the relevant information about that suit, including a statement by ActivisionBlizzard on the topic.
Below you will find the courageous video message by Alliestrasza explaining why she made her decision, as well as Lt. Eddy's tweets on the topic.
FRIDAY EDIT: Trump has announced today that he is also pulling his card reveal. Blizzard also decided to pull more reveals from their own official channels, scheduled in the next few hours. See the video in which Trump explains his reasoning below.
Hey folks, not releasing my card reveal today. https://t.co/YzFRcjwFyk pic.twitter.com/rkXEVuPM4K

Please note: This happens at other companies, if not most. Even your own workplace that you’re unaware of. Please stand up against this behavior if you see it.

Good on them. I'm assuming they will stop playing blizzard games then.

@Carlsberg he just speaks the truth. They will change nothing. Maybe they make 2 videos about it and then its over and they will continue to buy a lot of stuff.
He is saying he does not care what they did. He is only here for a card game.
i have 2 strikes already for racism/sexism, some1 plz say something about this **** O_o
I do not care
...why comment...?
Do you care?
Can we just please for the love of god wait to see what the court rules before we start dragging either of these parties through the mud. Just fucking once?
I mean, 2 years of work went into gathering evidence. At the very least, something happened o much that the state thought this was worth pursuing, and now it's up to the legal teams to worm through the semantics and try to hash out technicalities and hairsplitting to either pin this on Blizzard or absolve them of at least some of the accusations.
I think it's safe to put your starting place in this little journey at "guilty, but of how much?"
Also, for me, "how much" is a great point to make when pouring a glass of water, not when it comes to sexual harassment, inequality, and fostering an environment that seems to have led to the suicide of a woman employed by Blizzard (who died while on a work trip with a male higher-up). Some bets are safe bets, and I'm betting these women didn't manufacture these accounts and attach themselves to a lawsuit that will unquestionably demonize them before the trial even starts in the eyes of many gamers just because they wanted a payout. This stuff is a problem in the gaming community as a whole and can't possibly come as a surprise, seeing how they've handled smaller-scale issues of the same base nature.
Anecdotal evidence is not fact. On both sides. We will see where the truth lies in this then I will pick my side. Till then I’m neutral.
They hated nidnam1252 because he told them the truth
Its to bring up attention to the lawsuit. What better way to bring up attention to the lawsuit then wondering where the card reveal went.
i dont even watch these so-called streamers. Attention seeking bastards. Might as well, blizzard reveal the rest of the cards themselves.
Ah yes, you don't even watch them, so they don't count.
On other news, today I've eaten a sandwich, so world hunger is no more.
Shut up nonce
Preventing some grown men to see incoming cards for a children card game is definitely a efficient way of protesting. Nicely done!
Nothing worse than Hearthstone addiction really...but this is how they melk Nerds.
Apparently it works. Those "grown men" act worse than my three year old - and he doesn't even fully grasp the concept of time.
Also this here is not "protesting", just spreading awareness.
More power than you have.
