Seems pretty OK in a tempo/value Secret Mage.
The flavor is really awsome ! Dude is picking cards while saying the secrets you had.
When Aluneth is too mainstream...
Maybe im spoiled by the flashy effects of Old Gods, but these class legendaries are kinda boring so far
totally agree this card feels a bit boring
would wild secret mage run this?
Absolutely not, there is aluneth which is much better
There's no "absolutely not" here. Yes, Aluneth is better card draw, but there's no reason why you can't run both. If you get Aluneth early great, if not you can just play 3 or 4 secrets and draw 5 cards with Sayge instead. Having both in your deck only starts to be a downside if you draw through literally your entire deck, since you have one less threat in your deck. Other than that you just play one while the other sits in your hand and you're good.
Sayge does also have advantages over Aluneth. First off, he's a 5/5 while Aluneth is a useless (in terms of combat applicability) weapon. One of those two clearly brings more power. Secondly, If you draw them late Sayge is just better in every way. You get 6 or 7 cards instantly instead, over the next few turns, which can be super important, and you also don't draw infinitely, you can just draw the 6 or whatever cards, and then comfortably spend a few turns burning your opponent down, instead of just dying to fatigue.
Long story short, yes Aluneth is better, but that doesn't mean there's not a spot for Sayge too.
My only problem with both being viable is just how streamlined secret mage is in wild. The likely card to cut would be a Kabal Crystal Runner although that would hurt the early game tempo of the deck. The card draw is ultimately a fail safe in case you don't win by turn 7 ish, so more card draw is decent in heavy control match ups although I feel overall the optimization of the deck doesn't really need another source of card draw in a majority of games.
That's definitely a good point, it will be interesting to see which changes Secret Mage makes this time, since they're getting quite a few synergy cards. It's possible that Sayge doesn't make the cut, my point was mainly just that you can't just dismiss him out of hand.
A day of Legendaries gets one more crazy legendary. Holy shit.
hOlY sHiT mAnG!
Well that is pretty boring.
i mean mage isn’t exactly hurting for card draw
