Quote from BlizzardUpdate1: We’ve encountered an issue with the ranked floor fix for Battlegrounds mentioned above. We’re now planning to ship that fix separately next week. Thanks for your patience!
Update2: We’ve run into a few more issues that have prevented us from deploying the hotfix for Robes of Gaudiness and Turalyon, the Tenured to all regions. We’ll update here once the hotfix has been successfully deployed for everyone.
I really don't understand why some people think game companies should lock up a room of 10,000 QC test players for months at a time before the game is released in the name of "balance". Things are tested out by companies but you absolutely cannot account for tens or even hundreds of thousands of players playing the game over countless different scenarios. That type of data can never be generated pre-release.
You can play it for free, you just won't get the rewards.
And the newer expansions are more powerful than the old ones, so at most one would want to craft a few specific cards that are good and use mostly the new ones.
How are they shamelessly stealing anyone's money? Last I checked, no one was forcing you to pay for anything. I really don't understand why people think Blizzard owes you anything. Free will and a capitalist market are amazing things. You have so very many choices. You can play a free variant of this game, or you can not play this game, but another one instead. You can pay for all of the perks of this game if you enjoy it, or you can not pay anything, and give the game a bad review if you don't.
You have no right to play any game. You have the luxury of playing $0 to play free games, and you have the luxury to spend tens of thousands of dollars on micro-transaction games.
Lastly, as you've shown, you have the right to kick, tantrum and fuss over anything you want, with no cost at all.
What an amazing world.
Sometimes i think that the "right" to speak is sometimes misunderstood with the "duty/obligation" to speak.
why do you think they gave everyone early access? Companies are not going to waste time with beta testing when they have thousands of players who just want to play the game anyway. This is why duels were released so everyone who was going to buy the preorder would get what essentially is "beta access" to the new mode and 6 free packs of cards for playing it. I bought both pre-orders and had my 6 free packs in less than 20 minutes with the hunter toon. I actually enjoyed the overpowered rng mode and only being able to use 1 copy in a 16 slot starting deck. I used cards I haven't played with in years and cards I never would have ever used in standard or wild for that matter. I have a complete collection and have played since closed beta on pc and switched to playing exclusively on mobile when they released that in April of 2014 if I remember right. This game is approaching being a decade old and will be before you know it. The fact that it's still here is a testament to how good the game is and how many people actually play it. I have done the daily quest every single day for the entire run of the game, being on mobile makes this extremely easy. I am an old school, almost 50-year-old, pc-gamer. I used to pirate games on my commodore 64 when I was a kid and even had the original Pong that I played on a color console tv that had a remote the size of a shoebox for its 8 buttons. I don't like being chained to a pc anymore and being able to escape the day while I'm at work to complete daily quests in hearthstone while I'm getting paid a hefty salary to boot is pretty cool to me. The hate on these forums for Blizzard and Activision is very off-putting and makes no sense to me. Why players would hate a company that makes a game they clearly like and continue to play is beyond all sensibility. Companies have to adapt to stay competitive or else suffer dissolution. Hearthstone is a funny game with great artwork and voice acting. The people that make this stuff put their lives into it in hopes that they can realize whatever goal they are trying to achieve and in the process be compensated for their work. The player base here seems to hate capitalism with the passion of a hardened Marxist on steroids. Everything should be free and perfect all the time. Complaining about an early access game mode that you don't have to participate in for anything is childish, to say the least. I played 11 games during my 3 quests for the 6 packs of Scholomance cards and won 9 of them. I never ran into a problem with the game mode. The only two losses I had were against the paladin toon and I never saw the robes passive once in those 11 games. Why is losing a card game so devastating to people here? Losing at all things in life is part of life. Learning from these losses is what makes you smarter. Even if you lose to something that is out of your control is a fact of life. Getting cancer is out of your control but unfortunately, it happens. You have to learn to deal with life. Hating cancer is not going to help you win against it. Hating Blizzard is not going to help you enjoy the games it produces. I am not directly comparing Blizzard to cancer so don't misinterpret what I am trying to say. Hearthstone is a game you can play by not spending a dime or by spending hundreds of dollars. Blizzard does not force you to participate in hearthstone at all. Hearthstone is designed to get you to invest some of your time playing in hopes that you will continue to play and eventually spend money on. Just because Blizzard makes x amount of money on the game does not warrant the hate it gets for trying to make more money on the game. You do not have to participate at all. You can spend as little time and money on hearthstone as you want, it's your choice. I have opted to support the company, its employees, and investors by buying its products. I will be opening my standard 320-350 packs of cards next month when the expansion releases just like I have done with every expansion since there have been expansions. I will also buy the new premium pass so I can enjoy collecting those digital goodies that make the game fun for me. Once you learn to stop hating the system and learn to live within it the more you will appreciate it for what it is and what it offers. Criticism is fine but when it is leveled at things that do not warrant it the people issuing it are only displaying their own foolishness. I never complain about overpowered cards in this game I just come up with ways to beat them. When 80% of the opponents you face rush to the latest OP deck the legend players like me just play the deck that counters the OP deck 60% of the time, this is why we are legend players while the rest just whine and hate. Stop hating and join the legend club, believe me, it's much more fun!
Oh my fucking god, this post is so related to me. Love the way how you described you vision, and I fully support you in this question. This is a game we all love, so we must be part of it, not hate or complain about it. If I could I would "plus" your post hundred of times. You are a legend, can I add you into my friend list in Hearthstone? I would like to play with you time to time.
Whoa there Dickens, I didn'g come here to read a novel.
I thought the same as a first reaction, but i took the time to read it and it was a welcome surprise to me, and very very true. Worth your time if you can spare it.
He was too busy planning his next 300 hottest decks of the week threads to think about posting something more sensible.
No he didn’t apparently not
Why did they think that putting it in in the first place was a good idea? They've literally stated before that it was being used to cheese heroics dungeon runs and it wasn't a good idea to put it in the solo game.
I insta concede if someone picked ths one. its broken for sure.
my opponent summoned 5 discovered Legendarys (8 Mana cost card ?) with coin on turn 3.
GG
NERF THIS PLEASE. Trying to enjoy the early access.
Did you even bother to read the only 2-3 sentences in the article before you commented?
Very first run of mine was 12:0 with robe. So OP
Robes its still there, I got it few minutes ago, and before that I played against a player with robes as well, in the second case, I was thinking maybe he draft the deck yesterday, but after the game offer it to me just 10 minutes after, i can say 100% that the robe its still in the game.
Edit: I just saw that it's coming today, I suppose its not live yet.
Glad they removed it.
got em
Game mode not even out 36 hours and already balance changes. Good start!
I honestly cant tell if youre being sarcastic or not so I'll assume you aren't, I really like this honestly. Nerfs need to happen quick before people get burned out.
