i hope flakmage dies for this
it can be playable in sort of "miracle" DH deck, which will focus on cheap spells, Questing Adventurer, Kaeltas to activate 0 mana Inner Demon, Skull of Guldan and Metamorphosis. In case meta will be aggro-centric, this is a good anti agro tool.
I feel like there is a DIRECTLY INVENTED keyword for this. Why don't you just white it like "after you play outcast card..."?
You can play non-outcast cards from your left or rightmost hand slot and still activate the effect of this card with this wording, so it's much better than "after you play an outcast car...".
Oh thanks for clarifying! I cannot read apparently
It seems okay. Honestly reminds me a bit of Bloodmage Thalnos. Something you can use to add a couple extra damage to AoE to help clear a board you perhaps normally couldn't otherwise. More expensive so less flexible, but it synergizes well with actual Outcast cards which are quite powerful and often can be discounted. Also loses the card cycle, but you get a minion that can potentially trade better.
I'm not terribly impressed, but it's a one-of anyway. Might be situationally better than other 3 drops.
It's no flakmage, but it's not bad.
I too am curious why this doesn't contain the outcast keyword. No doubt for balance issues but would still like to know why exactly
Because outcast occurs when you play the card with the keyword... This had to be on the board for the effect to work...
If they said "deal x damage when you play an outcast card", that would be understood that the card would have to be on the right or left, AND contain the outcast keyword....
They would have to write: "deal x when you play an an outcast, but the card doesnt have to have the outcast keyword", which is stupid... This is the least confusing way
Thanks for the explanation!
Dreadscale but slower to work
And what happens if you only have 1 card in hand? You're triggering it twice, since it's both the most in the left and most in the right, or the trigger misses because it's in the middle?
If X or Y is true then do Z
Doesn't matter if it checked the conditions twice and they are both true it will only do Z once. It isn't written this way:
If X is true then do Z
If Y is true then do Z
Well you can't say for sure without getting a look at the code..
It is basic understanding of what is written on the card. Of course the code isn’t as simplistic as I wrote.
I don't like this
Genuinely pretty bad. For you to get use out of this card, you'd have to dump most of your hand on the same turn you play him, because with 2 health he sure as hell isn't surviving very long. That's fine though, DH has enough strong cards at this point.
Don't forget that DH has a 0 cost card that generates another 0 cost card. And there's also the potential for eyebeam to cost 0 as well.
Actually the only "soft" DH card we've seen in a while :D might be the Basic set legendary (?)
It's from the initiate set
