It's not the best top deck you can get, sure, but it's far from unplayable since it's only 2 mana and hits randomly like rag does tho. 2 mana deal 5 to face isn't bad.
Because this card is based on demon npcs in TBC that use the core hound model. Besides, when anything of any species receives fel energy they become demons. All demons were non-demon species at some point.
how is that the worst part? it's inconsequential. or are you just making a joke about the art because there's nothing else worth discussing on this card?
Just realised this was a hunter card after reading the comments lol.
I also thought this was a DH card and was like "Well, here's the first mediocre card of the DH set." But after reading your comment, looking on the page and seeing it says "Hunter" I was like "Oh, well now that it's a hunter card it seems alright."
another proof of the supreme law of peoples' cards review: any hunter card is considered very good or op, included those which would be judged mediocre for any other class and those which don't see any play after. lol
When I said, "Seems Alright." I left up for interpretation that this card could be complete garbage. But with it being a hunter card, an already aggressive class, it can make use of the effect, clearing an enemy minion, weakening a strong minion, or just by going face. It's common, meaning it will probably see play in some budget decks, with hunter being the best class for new/budget players. If it was a neutral card I would see it as a 2/5 star card. Since it's in hunter I see it as a 3/5 card. But that's just my mindset when I saw that it was a hunter card.
Actually they are elemental too, however THIS corehound has reciever fel energy which is what makes anything in WoW a demon.
I mean , I used to have a Fel Core Hound as a pet in WoW , and i just checked it up and all green Core Hounds are tameable to this day , meaning they are all beasts.
If they wanted to go with a demon Core hound they should have gone with a Void hound look.
False. Wrath Hound and Lesser Wrath Hound from BC are both demons, and Manglewrath and Ragemaw are also both demons this time from Legion. Demon Green Core Hounds have existed since the first time the model was used.
Why are they naming a core hound a demon when they are beasts?
Hunter?
Unlike the 3/5 this one can Mind Blast them!
It says enemy, not enemy minion, so this can go face bypassing taunts, which makes this really good. It can also be setup that when it awakes it's effectivelly a 5 attack charger for free.
Of course, opponent knows it's coming and can play around it by tossing stuff that if dies benefits them, like deathrattles, but like Rag shots, this can bypass taunts.
Since Hunter pressures the entire game, this card will always be threatening at any point of the game. On curve it kills almost anything the opponent might have, and a lot of times will be a free value trade and allow your other minions to just go face.
ummmm side note, I’m seeing a lot of these demons starting dormant. Isn’t that reallly really bad for the warlock Galakrond guy. I can see myself getting four dormant guys and losing the game.
It's not the worst thing tbh, most of the time the zoo cards end up winning the game and you don't even need Galakrond. When you do use him, either the weapon swing is enough or it's against slower decks in which case you would survive for your dormant boys to awaken and push that extra damage you need (imagine this card and the DH dormant card, that's 15 inevitable damage of which some would go face).
Of course with stuff like grim rally and scarab egg rotating, the zoo package becomes weaker so you may need Galakrond in more games but overall i think the average stats on the demons is gonna be much better, just depends on how significant the 2 turn delay is gonna be. In a slower meta (which I predict after the initial onslaught of Demon Hunters) think Galakrond may actually be stronger.
It being random sucks a bit but the effect seems pretty good for around turn 4/5
coin this baby out in 1st round, and I don't care what enemy it attacks.
I still haven't understood how dormant minions work with summoning effects. I mean, if a lackey summons this will it be dormant or already awakened?
It will be dormant and it will awake in 2 turns.
