This is better than Sludge Belcher. Belcher isn't played much anymore, only in decks that go very greedy into N'zoth. Rotten Applebaum has proven itself to be the superior 5 drop taunt and here is why:
3/5 is worth 3.5 Mana. 1/2 is worth 1 Mana. Taunt on good cards in Wild is worth zero Mana, but on Sludge Belcher you pay (and thus essentially float) 0.5 Mana for two Taunts.
Rotten Applebaum is a 4/5 which is worth 4 Mana. Restore 4 Health is worth 1 Mana (Iron Hide is 1.5 Mana rounded down). Therefore the Taunt is for free.
This card however is a 4 Mana 2/5. 2/5 Is worth 3 Mana. It comes back as a 2/1 which is worth 1 Mana. 3+1=4, and both Taunts are for free, you don't pay any mana for them.
In a Wild environment, this might still see no play though, because Reborn has so much less synergy potential than Deathrattle (and in my opinion is just a Variation of Deathrattle and should have never been made its own Keyword. It's Recruit all over again)
In Standard and Arena this card will be super strong though.
just a little bit weaker Sludge Belcher (in my opinion)
Well, sure it has one less attack, but one less mana makes up for it immensely. And that might actually make it better. (the minion left after it dies is also a 2/1 that can be healed rather than a 1/2 makes a big difference)
Sludge Belcher 2.0
Belcher 0,5 ;)
Called it, when I saw this minion in the paladin quest reveal video I knew it would be 4 mana, this is really good, it's basically a Sludge Belcher with 1 less attack and for 1 less mana, it doesn't have deathrattle synergy but still pretty good, BUT, if this does not make the cut it's because 2 attack isn't enough
Very good statline for buffs even if the reborn will come back as 2/1
If I cast Ancestral Spirit on a minion that has already been Reborn, will it come back with Reborn again or just another copy without Reborn?
It will come back with Reborn
This is instapick in arena, I like it! This is what you expect from neutral cards.. Clearly not a packfiller!
So a card that needs to take 12 damage to destroy it if you aren't running a silence? This isn't a Tar Creeper, dumbass. It's an annoying Taunt minion you have to kill twice.
In what reality is this an aggro card?
Reborn minions back to life with 1 health, so you need 6 damage to remove this.
Not exactly 6 damage since 1 of said damage needs to be dealt separately, but generally it's pretty close to being a 4 mana 2-5 taunt with divine shield.
A shit version of tar creeper
Pls aggro kids dont be hurt by the truth
Yes but i feel like Control decks have enough tools to fight vs aggro right now.
only control warrior does, the rest of the classes dont even have good board clears
solid 4 star card
Bonestorm?
One day they will make Lord Marrowgar - The lord of Bonestorm!
make it 5/2 and it would be a good aggro card
