Possible Expansion Teaser! A Red Parrot Has Appeared
In a tweet from @PlayHearthstone today, it looks like we might have an expansion teaser on our hands! The tweet makes a reference to pirates and there's a nice red birb flying over Gurubashi Arena in Stranglethorn Vale. It's a long-shot, but we may also have seen the new set icon on the cloth the bird is holding.
The next Hearthstone expansion will be announced tomorrow, November 2, at BlizzCon. Stay tuned to our front page for all our coverage of this year's big event and all the new information on the latest Hearthstone will have to offer.
You sound like you are describing the best meta. SMOrc. MSG meta was way better than this control snooze fest, I honestly miss the pirate warrior, midrange shaman, jade druid meta.
Yay. More Pirates.......... So exciting.................................
Captain Patches incoming

pls dont be an Pirate expansion
Nice, we might see some trolls - my favorite tribe :)
I guess we will get a gurubashi arena PVE mode. Similair to dungeon run.
One of the best area in wow. Pretty cool news
pirates are a weapon synergy tribe, weapon buffs mean you can go face with them (see:odd rogue) so pirates=aggro
besides people go PTSD from PW
we didn't had an aggro meta in a while BTW it's control/combo meta atm
Weapon buffs don't force you to go face, though I won't be so naive as to suggest pirates are not, by and large, aggressive.
I should also confess I am a long time pirate Rogue fan (it was the first deck I put effort into crafting back in Classic and I got the class golden with pirates back in TGT, long before Patches soured everyone's opinion of the tribe).
Nevertheless, the thing with odd rogue is it is trivial to have a significant weapon available, whereas that was a finer art pirate (Rogue) decks. Because you had to balance the state of the weapon with the state of the board it was fairly skill testing despite being an 'aggro' deck, and I can only see that being a good thing.
Bird is misspelled in this article.
It's like doge.
you misspelled birb*
Pretty likely that we will get an even mix of all things to do with this area of wow, that means murlocs, naga, trolls, and yes, pirates as well. Everyone needs to chill this is a great area of the wow word that I'm sure will translate perfectly into hearthstone
What about Year of the Kraken? (The year before Mammoth)
Far more likely that we will get an even mix of all things to do with this area of wow, that means murlocs, naga, trolls, and yes, pirates as well. Everyone needs to chill this is a great area of the wow word that I'm sure will translate perfectly into hearthstone.
Here is my theory - racking my brains for memories from Stranglethorn vale and referring to some maps
The area is one of the most diverse zones in Warcraft with the following places
Gurabashi arena - famed for the Pirate chest pvp event
Booty bay the neutral pirate town
Two main troll areas - Zul'Gurub and Zul'kunda
The camps of Nesinwary, some alliance Rebels and the Explorers league
Venture company Goblins
Ogre mound of MoshOgo
Kurzens Compound - a rebel human mixed up in Ogre magic
The Vile Reef - populated by murlocs and some naga possibly
Many other places
I think all the leaks so far might be right
We might be getting a Brawl focused around the arena. I am thinking every class might get cards related to the occupents in Stranglethorn such as:
Warriors - Pirates
Shaman - Murlocs
Hunters - Nesingwary
Warlocks - maybe Kurzen
Paladins - Rebels
Priests - Trolls - and a Troll Priest as a hero card
Druids - Beasts
Rogue - Venture company
Mage - Ogres
But if its like this what would the neutrals be.. - unless the neutrals are one of these or all... - [edit] or Explorer's league is another faction - either for a class or neutral
Hopefully they make Pirates more interesting and more than just aggro cards.
Would love some kind of treasure map mechanic, like the old ELISE :)
I wonder if we will get a pirate ship that can't attack hero directly (like Gunspire).
