Vai Brasiliam
Looking at the standings, there are three remaining matches between 3-2 teams, and a fourth match between a 3-2 team and a 4-1 team. All the other matches are between two teams which already have 4+ wins. Since 13 teams are currently at 4+ wins, if the Czech Republic (3-2) beats Bulgaria (4-1), the Ro48 will finish with 17 teams at 4+ wins, and one of the 4-2 teams will be eliminated. If Bulgaria wins, all the teams with 4+ wins will advance.
I somehow calculated there would be more 4-2s incoming but yes you're correct. And since Bulgaria's first tiebreaker is significantly worse than other teams' they are quite close to being eliminated themselves should they fail to win. Germany should be through, my bad.
The results from the last two matches yesterday are not updated in the standings. I think as a result there are a max of 18 teams at 4+ wins. Netherlands has 4-2 record and there are three guaranteed four win teams left from (Belgium/Spain, Canada/Portugal, US/S. Korea). Potentially Czech as well. One or two teams with 4-2 record will miss out.
As per Battlefy Singapore and Chile already had their match, Singapore is 5:1 and Chile is 4:2.
Well then we're not 100% safe but considering that Norway is already behind us with a bad tiebreaker (as per Battlefy) and Bulgaria also with a bad one we should hopefully make it through.
How are the tiebreakers calculated on Battlefy?
That information can be found on the bottom of the "Standings"-page:
For Germany the first tiebreaker is 1, for Norway and Switzerland 0 and for Bulgaria -5. I can't see Bulgaria overtaking anyone without a win. Belgium and Canada are at -4 and -5, respectively, so should they win their matches Bulgaria might have a chance even if they fail to beat Czech Republic.
Thank you but how is the first tiebreaker calculated? Can this still go up or down depending on how the opponent teams are playing?
F.ex. Germany played vs. South Korea and Czech Rep. If both loose their games will the first tiebreaker change to -1 then?
Yes, it can (and probably will) still change a bit, and it would indeed drop to -1 if the teams you mentioned lose today.
Wow now we're really at the point that South Korea must win against the US, otherwise we're out. Will this be scheduled on 07.09. as the only game then?
Yes, it should be now that Blizz moved Chile vs Singapore to Tuesday for whatever reason.
Yay we did it, gz team Germany :-)
As far as I know you'll still need to wait for the results of today's games to be certain. Not all 4-2s will make it and Germany's tiebreaker isn't that great. It's currently good enough but the results from today will change everybody's tiebreakers and Germany's ranking can easily rise or fall as a result.
amazing !!
I deleted all the comments except this one, muhahah!
