More than a week has passed, the big patch is out and they are still in the process of testing a fix ...

One week and still closed. Blizzard never ceaces to amaze me how little they care about anything other than standard or BG. If BG had a bug, they'd fix it within an hour. One week downtime for a mode that seemingly no one cares about? Why not just open it, and ban ppl who are exploiting the mode while you are fixing the problem.
Wouldn't suprise me if they just closed the mode right now, since they already will be closing it in April. 

Get used to it. :(

 You have to realize these aren’t players in the true meaning of the word. These accounts were used to exploit something because it was exploitable.  This exploit clearly embarrassed those  on the receiving end so bad they had to make the hammer fall. The fact the server doesn’t have any checks to see if deck states are valid or not says a lot. The fact this happened isn’t just embarrassing its job loss level incompetence.  This was not done for “free wins”, that was just incidental.

So, when we get duels back? Nothing to do 

 Anyone got any screenshots of facing these hacked decks? I'd like to see exactly how overpowered some of them were.

Zeddy uploaded a video showing some clips of enemies using these hacks in the first 3 minutes. The rest of it is other stuff going on with the recent patch

I gotta say, in close to 10 years of playing Hearthstone (/ Battlegrounds) I have seen very few bugs and I don't think I've ever seen an opponent cheat / hack. So props to the devs! 

It's kinda scary that this is even possible. Knowing precisely zilch about programming, I thought that since everything in the game happens through servers and needs to be verified, such kind of cheating would not be possible.

I hope they can close the holes and the game isn't overrun by people playing illegal decks. Bots are annoying enough already.

Speaking of which, is it just me or has a new wave hit the game? I spent the last few days doing achievements and naturally am stuck at rank floors, I see dozens of account names like "AmberRhino", "SilverHawk", "OnyxStag", "BlueViper" etc.. About half of them check their cards and cards on the bord but cannot play anything, the other half seems very human-like, but it's a bit suspicious that they all have generic names and all play the same 2 or 3 decks - like a Death Knight deck with Stormwind Champion.

The blizzard bots are supposed to be gone from normal ladder, and these certainly don't feel like typical blizzard bots and don't play starter decks.

Maybe this isn't new, but I hadn't noticed this before.

IIRC, Blizz bots have animales names in them, so it could be Blizz bots.

This is normal. When I started with hs I didn‘t know which name to choose. So I‘ve choosen the autogenerate function till the german word for rainwulf was suggested which I took cause I liked it. 

There can be bots of course, but not always.

If they released this bug as a game mode, I'd play it every day.  I can see the attraction.

It's a shame that it appeared in a Heroic Duel, though. 

 They are hacked by third party software to create a starting deck which contains uncollectable cards, such as Mercenaries, Battlegrounds, or Solo Adventure cards. These are (obviously) not meant to be in your Duels Starting Deck, and many of them are absurdly overpowered, resulting in lots of free wins.

Funny or not. They harmed other players.
