An update on how things are going in the fight against bots, after their post in October.
Quote from BlizzardAs the year winds down, we wanted to give you another update on our increased actions against unauthorized bots this year.
Since our last update in October, we’ve banned an additional 114,237 accounts for botting. We’ve now banned over 284,000 total accounts for botting throughout the year. As you can see from those numbers, we’ve been ramping up our efforts throughout the year. We’ll be continuing the fight into the new year, and we have some plans for next year that we think will address the problem at a more systemic level. As a reminder, you can continue to help by reporting suspected bots using the in-game reporting tool.
Thanks and happy holidays, we’ll see you in the Tavern and in the new year!
They removed big/reno priest mains PogChamp
For the sake of completing achievements, I play a lot with Blizzard bots. They have almost zero thinking time and often just throw good cards without any effect, but they can sometimes overwhelm even good decks. They really make the game feel fast-paced, but you can only play them when your MMR is low, so you can't have fun climbing many ranks with them.
Guys, i mean there is no bad things about these bot? What they do? Roping’?
the bots didnt do anyting that can hurt the game.
Also, im using autoclicker in standard to farm those tavern pass. Iam at level 150 rn without buying the $20 premium pass, im not hurting anyone by roping.
Yes, it's roping that Blizzard dislikes.
I did that with Mercenaries on an old account. No roping, and no other players were involved, but my account still got banned. I guess it's not just because roping makes for a bad user experience; farming also hurts Blizzard's bottom line. The reward track has a lot of gold and cards, so if you farm it, in theory you are going to spend less of your real money on packs.
I, for one, absolutely despise ropers. They are the lowest of the low. I just want to play the game and these selfish ropers are taking up all my free time. So, if you're a roper please stop playing Hearthstone.
edit: @NGENTOT
yeah roping is the worst thing hurting other players time , what i dont get is why you don't set the autoclicker to end turn , you still afk farm , you play same time just on multiple games , you let real opponents end game faster and still time farm against other bots-autoclickers . You just lose some game wins if opponent concede instead of wait ..
If you keep doing what you do , opponents will report you , blizzard will ban you , so you farmed for nothing if you are forced to start a new account.
To add, I think it’s actually more beneficial to play more games for xp farming too! As in if the players who bot would set the bots to play faster and not rope, they’re likely going to farm more xp!
Back when they first switched to the rewards track there was an influx of Odd Warrior bots in Wild that did nothing but button and rope out to farm xp. And I believe they stated at that time you get less xp from one long game compared to two to three shorter games.
I've actually stopped reporting bots, after seeing that accounts that I've been reporting for weeks (some for over a month) are still active and botting as usual. This feature is literally useless. The number of even shamans in my match-up spread only keeps growing and it's not thanks to popularity among real humans. 114k accounts banned since October? Did they pull these crazy numbers out their bums? I don't feel the impact at all.
Don’t stop! They’ve said before they push bans out in waves. So they gather reports and data to build a ban list, and then push a large number of bans at once.
So if you report someone but then still see them, that doesn’t mean the team is ignoring you. They just haven’t taken action yet.
idk bro, i've played against the same even shaman bot 8 times since september and he's still around botting as usual.
Just nerf shaman totems and rogue pirate dredge weapon and bots will be gone, simple as that
While I agree with you in theory...
Life, uh, always finds a way...
pirate rogue is actually like a tier-3 deck. aggro priest has been much better recently. if they nerf rogue, priest bots will surely become more common and be a bigger pain in the bum.
If you nerf the current bot decks, they won't stop botting. You'll instead change the decks they use for botting. Out goes Shaman and Rogue, in is Priest and DK. And people who enjoy those decks will get hit in the crossfire.
You need to address the bots directly, not try to fight them in a proxy war.
Ive come across some i believe. With weird color plus animal combos. Like brownraven, cyanwolf, neonfox, purpleelk. Stuff like that
Unauthorized bots?
So Blizzard admits that there are authorized bots.. ;-)
They have "admitted" that since Sept 2022.

"Early Progression and Milestone Offer Updates
Apprentice (new player ranks) and low internal-rating players (colloquially called “MMR”) may now face up against AI opponents when playing on the ranked Standard ladder. This will help said players have a more fun experience while learning the game. Experienced players will not face these AI opponents, and they will have no impact on MMR, leaderboards, or legend ranks. Most players advance beyond the affected MMR range upon leaving Silver or Gold ranks."
Yes, but the authorized bots should be easy wins. If you lose to the actual Blizzard bots you are either new and learning, or should uninstall.
