Best Arena Cards, Past & Present
Our friends over at the Curse Entertainment YouTube channel put out a video today on the best arena cards in Hearthstone, both in the past and the present. You can check it out below.
Nice video, though the history is not so far away...
We do realize that you get a card back a pet a mount and then portraits. As well as the ability to watch all the content from the convention... ON top up that they have not announced yet if anything Overwatch related might come. If you remember they gave special goodies out last year for hots while it was still in alpha.
Think it's ridiculous to charge 30 dollar / euro / whatever to view some glorified marketing event. Blizzard should pay us (not necessarily with money ofc) for watching the advertisement of their products. Charging 30 bucks for it instead (for an online stream, really??) is outrageous and immoral.
How exactly?
They aren't charging 30 dollars for a card back, they are charging it for an convention for people that cant come. It costs 200 dollars for the original ticket plus money for Hotel flight/etc. The goodie bag are extras for purchasing it. It's a fair price. You basically save good over 200 dollars with ingame items as a goodie. But then again I might be delusional since im a blizzard fanboy that doesent know any better.
This may not be a popular opinion, but I'm fine with it. The panels will be entertaining to watch throughout the weekend, and there is some "good" production that is behind it which imo justifies the cost. It's also a fraction of what it would cost to fly out to California and buy a physical BlizzCon ticket which alone is a killer deal, but then when I get to factor in I can stay at home in my pajamas? Super good value!
Oh, but then there's the digital rewards, which I'll admit I'm a total sucker for, which just improve upon my willingness to purchase it. Exclusive stuff that a few years down the line you may not see as much of? Sign me up.
All the eSports stuff remains free to watch this year as it has in the past, as will the opening ceremony. I'll be providing a live recap of the Hearthstone panels here on HearthPwn as I've done the past couple of years for those who didn't purchase a virtual ticket which will summarize the hour long events in something you can review in 5 minutes. I love reading panel recaps.
How is it?
They arent charging 30 bucks for a card back, they are charging 30 bucks so you can virtually go to blizzcon. The blizzcon ticket costs around 200 dollars I think, included up with food, hotel and flight we're quickly up in more than 500 dollars. How is it unreasonable for them to charge 30 dollars for something that would normally cost over 10 times as much? You pay to watch blizzcon, the card back and other ingame stuff are goodies for purchasing the ticket, you aren't purchasing the ticket just for the card back unless you're a collector or an idiot.
For a start you should question the price of a physical Blizzcon ticket as well. Blizzard should be VERY grateful having so many loyal fans willing to travel from all over the country (and world) to visit their promotional event. In my opinion charging 200 dollars for a ticket, knowing most of those people have already paid hundreds of dollars for flight and accomodation (not to mention the money they spent on Blizzard products), is completely absurd. Essentially Blizzcon is a means for Blizzard to advertise and hype their products. How in the world can you justify them (a multi-billion company) charging any amount of money for attendance (physically or through stream) of such an event?
Long time virtual ticket buyer here - I can only say that it's all worth it's money, even without any digital goodies.
You get to see a lot of Blizzard and ...
[Edit: blablabla, the downvote ppl were here..]
They can charge what they like. And you have the power to buy it or not. That's what we call a "free market".
PS: lol at the downvoters who can't handle free markets but are quite happy to play a game for free where they are subsidized by the people they seem to hold in contempt.
Every fanbase has people that goes to their conventions so they arent lucky, it's normal
Don't mind the downvotes. They are from the folks that sit at home on government aid playing games that are free to play and whine whenever there's content (even COMPLETELY cosmetic content) that they can't afford. And they'll downvote this post also because I've nailed it.
So you should just get everything for free? If it weren't for people willing to actually pay money to Blizzard for certain content you wouldn't be able to play for free. So stop whining about the hand that feeds you.
Icecrown - next pve dungeon in HS confirmed.
Cardback certainly looks sexy, but not sure about other bonuses.
Wtf a card back?? Man 2 years ago we got gold ETC, for a gold legend i'd consider shelling out 30$, hell naw for a cardback..
Looks insane. Good that I already bought my virtual ticket. Maybe ice crown as next adventure.
Pay2Cardback announced, who cares?
edit: Yet another kick in the ass from Blizzard for free2play cardback collectors.
Probably the people who are willing to buy the card back cares.
These people are dumb! They support blizzard with this idea, but it's so terrible wrong ... Everyone should be able to get this cardback without paying money. These who want it fast? Pay 29 bucks, whatever... I would even pay 3000 gold for this!
Btw. why can't we buy the virtual ticket with gold?
