I feel that Barnes is ok from the point that its for me if one in 10 games brings out an 1/1 that brings out a 10/10. The problem for me is in the ressurection choices that Priest has and that the ''turn 3 Barnes, turn 4 eternal..'' is not an option. Because in the mean time, they can't do anything cause theur deck is full of removals.
Sure i know that, the new designers from China they already have a game and they will just polish it and will be under the name of D:I
And for me although i understand your point that the games are completelly different ofc, my point was the generall direction of the games in the ''mobile'' road...
Due to the recent great disappointment with the Diablo being only on mobile devices and not on PC, i really need to express myself and say that although i really really understand the preference of mobile devices and the casual-type of playstyle they offer, i am pretty sure that if Hearthstone wasn't on PC, i wouldn't play it!
The PC gives me feeling of controling everything and feel more ''serious'' when i play the game on the one hand and on the other hand it gives me also the option of alt-tab if i feel more casual. Generally i feel a lot more freedom.
Does this makes any sense to you guys or i am the only one?
I remember people laughing at the fact that Prince Keleseth was just a meme and nobody would ever really play him.... Good times...
On the other hand we have Prince Valanar which never used or even worse Dollmaster Dorian that everybody feels that has some use maybe , but ended up being completely meme. And every expansion I see hype over some "potential" about epics and we the ones that end up get used are the ones like Psychic Scream which does something very powerful and SPECIFIC.
Of course from all these epics there will be 2-3 let's say with possibilities, but most of the are too niche and they dont complete something or in a certain direction. Also I think that with "epics tend to be more expensive than legendaries" , is a myth. If you look at commons and rates they have really great potential and power level.
Im wondering if complexity only comes with more text though. For MTG the text is often longer because of qualifiers and also because people needed to know what it did before online gaming was a thing. To a certain extent what they did with that 1/1 steed that replicated on death I never see anymore seemed like a dumbing down, cause noone was topping leaderboards with those builds anyway. You could easily make something phasic like "Over the next 3 turns..." Or cards that interact more with the opponent but they are obviously reluctant to do so.
After the rotation a lot of the game breaking power cards are leaving. I think the game is going to be a lot more tempo and value oriented and a lot less "i drew my DK/combo/powerplay on curve so I probably win". That doesn't make the game more complex per se but I do think it might make decisions a little more impactful on average, but I could be totally wrong.
For me complexity is not only about the power of each card and the broken stuff or desicion making per se, but also the cards can do something more complex and like ''think ahead'' type of play than ''play this battlecry gain that''
The thing is that you can't just start a game out as a comparatively simple game, watch it succeed for a few years, and then randomly overhaul it massively by making it much more complex without risking driving away large amounts of your playerbase.
It's an interesting discussion topic, but no business is going to take that kind of risking unless they are starting to go under.
Sure i totally aggre and as i said i understand that they want the playerbase to stay casual, but as the years go by and the game stabilizes and the playerbase becomes more advanced, then they can add something more complex, without of course meaning that it will become totally for ''card nerds''

I was wondering if instead of a barnes nerf, they can nerf eternal servitude to 6 mana. I think that would solve the problem of big priest. Opinions?

Sorry i confused the cards, i mean the 1/5 with taunt magnetic. even if you take out the magnetic, its still an 1/5 taunt

ALSO that... you can do both! And keywords are one per expansion, but one more line of text also really gives depth
