He might be right. I prefer Sylvanas mostly because I find Ysera a little boring to play. Sylvanas creates more interesting situations, in my opinion, and also fits Control Priest thematically. Ysera might be more valuable but I think it's very close. You won't regret it either way. :)
Haha yeah I don't think either is a bad decision. My practical side is nagging me into choosing Sylvanas, but I'm also wondering if I would play more Hearthstone if I was playing with the fun RNG of Ysera or Confessor.
Games are fast, and my win percentage was about 60%. Paladins are pretty easy to beat, which is nice because they're rampant on ladder. Warriors and Priests are tough matchups, but not unwinnable.
And most importantly, contrary to its namesake, don't always go face. Sometimes trading with weapons can net you long term minion damage.
And if you find yourself facing too many aggro decks, a control priest deck full of taunts (Deathlord, Sludge Belcher, as well as Zombie Chow, Lightbomb and Holy Nova) can really stop aggro decks in their tracks. Went from rank 5 to 4 with no losses.
Yeah I was thinking Sylvanas would be the more sensible choice. But then I asked Zetalot on stream which would be better between Ysera and Sylvanas, and he surprisingly said Ysera, which pushed me to make this post.
Confessor Paletress Pros: Fun finisher, while still allowing a heal. Cons: Inconsistent, can lose you the game (I'm looking at you Majordomo Executus...)
Sylvanas Windrunner Pros: Good in a lot of decks, strengthens midgame. Cons: Not a finisher.
Vol'jin Pros: Great against Handlock, good removal. Cons: Not a finisher.
Ysera Pros: Good finisher in control matchups, RNG fun. Cons: Possible win-more card, doesn't affect board immediately, 9 mana means no heal that turn.
Which one would you guys choose? Thanks in advance for the input!
Tyrion and Jaraxxus are the smart choices for competitive decks. Confessor is the fun choice, and a decent finisher in control priest and casino priest. Have fun!

I went from rank 15 to rank 5 in about 3 hours yesterday playing C4mlann's Facehunter decklist.

Hi! Have 1600 dust and wanted to craft a legendary for my control priest. Decklist attached.
Right now I'm debating between Confessor Paletress, Sylvanas Windrunner, Vol'jin and Ysera.
My internal debate:
Confessor Paletress
Pros: Fun finisher, while still allowing a heal.
Cons: Inconsistent, can lose you the game (I'm looking at you Majordomo Executus...)
Sylvanas Windrunner
Pros: Good in a lot of decks, strengthens midgame.
Cons: Not a finisher.
Vol'jin
Pros: Great against Handlock, good removal.
Cons: Not a finisher.
Ysera
Pros: Good finisher in control matchups, RNG fun.
Cons: Possible win-more card, doesn't affect board immediately, 9 mana means no heal that turn.
