posted a message on The Coin - Love it or hate it?

The Coin is usually not overpowered or unfair, but in some instances it can be gamebreaking. One example would be using it on turn 1 to summon a pint sized summoner, a 2/2 on turn 1 which makes your next summon cost 2 less. There are not many cards to eliminate a minion with this strong an effect and 2 life when you only have 2 mana available. The few that come to my mind are lightning bolt for shamans and arcane shot for hunters, although I am sure there are a couple more instances. Another instance of it being overpowered is in an early rush deck, for example a murloc oriented deck. Or in any shaman deck which carries Feral Spirits, a 3 mana cost card that summons two 2/3 taunts for only an overload of 2 next turn. Getting Feral Spirits out on turn 2 with the coin is outrageous and incredibly annoying to deal with.

Again, generally it is not too strong but if you grab the perfect starting hand for it things can become a bit unfair. But that is just my two cents.

posted a message on New to card games? Starting tips!

The main things you want in your deck for Hearthstone, from my experience on cockatrice, are aoe removal, specific removal for stronger minions, taunt minions to absorb enemy damage and shield you, and most importantly draw power. Usually in your 30 card deck you will want to split it about 12-14 spells to 18-16 minions. There are successful decks which do not have one or more of these components but only because they solely focus on another component, allowing the player to end the game early most often. The overwhelming majority of well made decks will contain all of these components and focus on winning in a specific fashion. For example a Mage might take late game cards and stall with taunts and board clear until he can draw his Pyroblasts and Archmage Antonidas with 10 mana crystals up. There are many ways to win in Hearthstone and a successful deck will always have a strategy. That's just a few basic tips for beginners.

posted a message on More Heroes In The Future?

I really hope they expand for Death Knights and Monks, DKs especially since I main'ed one in WoW for quite a while. But I am not aware of a Blizz post regarding this question so it's anyone's guess.

posted a message on Golden Cards as Rewards

This is awesome! I'm glad you continue to earn cards just for playing games rather than maxing out on experience and having to buy everything from there.

posted a message on Gadgetzan Auctioneer and secrets

Does anyone know if Gadgetzan Auctioneer's ability of draw one card per spell activated also counts secrets as spells? In other words, would you still draw a card for playing a secret with Auctioneer out just as you draw a card for playing Fireball or Arcane Intellect with Auctioneer out? I would really appreciate an answer to this, not sure what to do on cockatrice.

posted a message on The Official "1 Gold per Win!?" Thread

You should definitely gain more gold per game, especially for winning a game. Otherwise playing without spending real money is almost impossibly hard even with the quests factored in. I assume this will be changed before release but we shall see.

Been playing some warcraft and watching anime, so the usual for me. Waiting to get my card fix supplemented by the hearthstone beta, hopefully it is online by the time I get back from vacation.
