guyopt posted a message on Nerfs - The dust refund policy must be changed as it's not fair anymorePosted in: General DiscussionBlizzard destroys entire archetypes with no significant compensation to players.(4 free packs promotion was a trick to "hide" this issue)
Players crafted and invested money for building archetypes which are now dead by nerfs (2 weeks after expansion out!),
such balance change "costs" players significant damage in terms of dust which blizzard fail to compensate.
As a result the game becomes even more expensive, and there is a feeling for not respecting the players community

TallAr92 posted a message on Winter Veil is Coming! New Card Back, Bundle Deal, Free Packs Through QuestPosted in: News3 of them rotates out in april ;) They didn't even include the latest expansion. It's just like vendors in rlf shops trying to sell leftovers for good price before expiring.
People are selling 40 latest expansion packs for 30 bucks thanks to amazon coins. You can also do the same and only get packs for expansion which will not rotate. But I guess if someone has money to spend then whatever. Such people can afford anything anyway.

Lyme posted a message on 10k Hours logged, quit hearthstone for a while. What's the point?Posted in: General DiscussionI've got over 10k hours logged into Hearthstone, and started to question if I did ANYTHING else, how good at it I'd be? I think there is a fine line doing something that entertains you for a reasonable amount of time and then straight up addiction.
The game is enjoyable to a point. There are a lot of design decisions that I question and overall the expansions have slowly become very boring and stagnant. There isn't much new added to the game from a competitive standpoint that I enjoy. (Brawls arent fun to me, and arenas got very stale after switching to standard only imo). They haven't added anything that has hooked me and as much as I hate to say it, the game is just boring now. There is nothing strikingly new about the gameplay since I've played in the beta PVP wise. Not to mention with the rate they push out cards now, this "hobby" has become extremely expensive.
I have been around the block and am not approaching with an uninformed position on any of this. I've made seasonal playoffs a few times, placed top 5 a few months, won a few tournaments, took home around ~$1k total which is probably what I've spent on the game anyway. Those were fun, and a cool experience, but I'm really regretting the time I've spent in this game as I've never won a playoff, and don't see myself putting in hundreds of more hours to try. Of course RNG is frustrating but I can't cry too much about that because its a card game after all.
How do you all balance playing a game like hearthstone with your lives? I have a job, a girlfriend, a house, but sometimes I put things that I shouldn't first. Also, does anyone else feel the way I do about this game getting extremely stale? I could be alone in this sentiment, and I'm sure I'll get some pretty negative responses but I just wanted to ask. It's been about a month since I've played, haven't touched the new expansion, first time in ALL of the expansions I haven't preordered. Whats wrong with me? -

Infirc posted a message on What's worse? Aggro or OTK?Posted in: General DiscussionAgggro feels worse to me, i dont mind OTk they mind their own businesses, interact with my minions on board and let me play my cards and get my fun combos and card interactions, then i either whiff my stufff and they either kill me or they just die, but they're polite enough to let me play my cards before they kill me, aggro on the other hand will never let me play my cards because their whole game plan centers around killing me before i even get the chance to play with my cards, and that's just super rude.
As a clearer example back in kharazan whenever i played a Summoning Stone deck, if i played against a combo deck i'd be able to play the stone and get value from it, i'd have fun with my stone and then win or lose the game but if i was playing against aggro though i would die before being able to play the stone and i would feel so cheated out of my interaction and card combos.
edit: but if i'm dead honest nowadays the only decks that make me feel like that right now are Odd rogue (both wild and standard) and Wild even shamman, not even odd paladin makes me feel like i dont have time to play my cards, because there are neough defensive utilites rn, wereas before MSG got released with a different philosophy to expansions before its time, Board clears and good taunts were basically an urban legend. -

Malygoddd posted a message on Players who keep playing on perfectly knowing that they will loose...Posted in: Standard FormatWhy would anyone ever concede just by seeing their opponents class? First of all it could be any archetype, and there’s no way that any deck from any class has even close to a 100% winrate against every archetype that a class has. Sure, my deck is bad against decks like quest rogue, but I still win a few, and without those stars, I wouldn’t be at my current rank. I can’t tell if you’re trolling or not because there’s so many reasons why this post is retarded. Please say you’re trolling.
