    Quote from maroon5five >>

You should only nerf card when they are restrictively overpowered, and azure drake is not overpowered. Cards that see a lot of play are not necessarily overpowered, the other cards in their mana slot that they compete with could just be underpowered.

Fixed that for you. There are plenty of cards that are overpowered compared to some of the chaff that they put in for arena. Card games need some level of imbalance to make it compelling. I don't see that Drake is causing such issues as to prevent other cards from seeing play or design challenges that would prevent them from making other cards, so i say leave it be

posted a message on New Priest Legendary Card - Raza the Chained

This is pretty solid in any Priest list regardless of unrealistic drake combos. 5/5 on 5 has been playable since Loatheb, and he basically gives you innervate - hero power the turn he hits the field. If you have him sitting behind a 3/6 taunt dragon at that point he's going to be harder to remove, but the damage is already done.

Polymorph Secret confirmed, the value of this guy just went substantially up. I think it could be viable now.

    • 2 Mana Wyrm
    • 2 Arcane Anomoly
    • 2 Kabal Lackey
    • 2 Babbling Book
    • 2 Kirin Tor Mage
    • 2 Flamewaker
    • 2 Arcane Intellect
    • 2 Potion of Polymorph
    • 2 Counterspell
    • 2 Spellbender
    • 2 Fireball
    • 2 Frostbolt
    • 6 Other stuff

Tempomage isn't going to run Ice Block and any other secret on turn 1 is basically a waste.

Counterspell and Spellbender both serve the same purpose and are substantially better when they do not have a tempo hit. Spellbender is actually much better in this situation because you have a better chance of still having a body on board after the spell resolves, a opposed to it just trading 1:1. Warlocks gotta be careful with those Mortal Coils.
My problem with this card is its very all in. You basically need it turn one in that tempo game or it becomes really bad, and you are now relying on topdecks because you winmilled your hand. The nice thing about the list is that you have redundancies elsewhere in that you have Spellbender and Counterspell, Mana Wyrm and Arcane Anomaly, so perhaps I am wrong and this will be good and actually may Kirin Tor Mage playable by virtue of existing.

Holey Moley what a T1 Ice Block! Tempo Mages must really appeciate this card!

And why would you need Ice block on turn one?
So you can make sure your opponent gets flare value.

Where exactly does this excel? You can turn 1 Mana Wyrm, Coin, This dude, counterspell and have good board position, but basically from that point on the game you are just topdecking and hoping that you draw the card you need when you need it to push damage though. It seems really fragile.

posted a message on New Legendary Card - Patches the Pirate

I love this card,  and will play the hell out of it, but honestly it's at the best on par with other power cards in a lot of the classes lists already. Most of the pirates are underscale as it is compared to things like beasts or paladin stuff, so all he's really doing is making them on par or slightly overscale. The impact of that scaling though is low and gets lower as the game progresses.

People are also WAY overstating the number of times you'll draw him. In the properly built deck you are really only seeing 1-2 draws before he will come into play, and then counting in mulligans the odds of you opening this dude in your starting hand or first 2 draws is really low. And if you draw him early ill bet you can often find a proper moment to trade him up for something else for a mere 1 mana, which seems pretty solid to me. If I draw this turn one I will gladly crash him into a fiery bat or something.

Would be good if we had some battlecry taunts that cost 3, Battlecry referred to power, and hunter was not a class. It's just way to slow to do much.

You can play this turn one off coin Innervate. I would say the card has pretty good survivability.

    • T1 Coin, Innervate.
    • T2 Wrath whatever
    • T3 Raven idol, Roots, Call of the wild, any number of things

He's going to provide crazy value to the point where he wont need to survive.

    Crafting day one.

Can we talk about how amazing this is with all the cards Druid was already using. Wrath does 4 and draws a card. Raven Idol draws 2 cards for 1 mana. I have no idea how this works with Druid of the flame. Freaking starfall becomes one creature takes 7 damage and all others take 2.

Priest is going to be top tier with this, if not just a little boring. Silence effects are just going to be mandatory in every list now.

posted a message on Ram Wrangler - Beast Statistics

Acidmaw is goodish because you can trade your webspinnter into their tazdingo or whatever. Dreadscale I think is actually so high a variance it is impossible to judge. Since you have to have at least one other beast in play and your wrangler, you can usually be sure that your going to be taking damage, plus a number of beasts already have lowish HP, at least the ones you play early to play this and hope to hit krush. so it has much downside. But is also can be absolute havok against token decks like Pally.

posted a message on Evil Heckler is power creep

Magic has had power creep for years and it has not been a problem, there are strictly superior cards in that game. Here is why this is a non issue:

1 - They could always subtype one of them, which would then change the value of the card relative to the other stuff around it. This happened when they introduced Mechs

2 - In arena, you will still take the sub par BBB when it is not paired up against this one specific card, and its up against other cards of lesser value.

3 - Other cards in the game reference these cards differently. One can fall out of a shredder for instance, You can recombobulate or effigy in to one or the other. The existence of these cards, even if not ever sloted into a deck, change the relative value of other cards that reference them, there for they cannot be directly comparable.

The only place they are power creep is in constructed where you would not use either.

Between Eaglehorn bow getting a buff and Mad Scientist, this seems staple to me, even in facehunter who would love an undercosted 3/3 with taunt turn 2.
