This is obviously a buff to quest mage. Cabal courrier into tought steal into stealing this. Hit a few times and then play your apprentice hit antonidas and gg. Can also be done in wild with the mech that gives you a random weapon.

The economics are not there for this idea.

Blizzard provided 2 primary play modes:

    * constructed: where you have to invest in a collection.

    * Arena: where you have to pay entry for each run.

As a casual player it takes me most of a week to do an arena run. If I was getting given 1 arena ticket per week then: a) that is all the arena I would play anyway so I would not buy arena tickets. b) I would not have much time to play constructed so I would not feel the need to build a collection.

The game would not make any money off casual players like me. And casual players are where the game makes money (as those playing lots of hours earn enough gold in game not to have to buy cards).

I see your point but i dont agree with you.
As i see it, there are three kinds of players. The f2p leechers like me that will never put money in the game, casual players that from time to time will buy some pack bundles and stuff and hardcore players that invest money.
Blizzard need to keep all of them happy. The f2p are the ones that keep the game popular and attracks other players. The casuals and the hardcore are obviously the company income.
If you give free arena tickets, there will be no effect f2p and the hardcore revenue. The f2p will not invest and the hardcore already has all the collection. The ones that buy arena tickets are the casuals. You will sacrifice some income from them in exchange for potential new casuals (new players or some f2p that decide to pay because they liked the mode).  If blizzard has low number of players investing in arena it could be a nice solution. If not i could be too risky for them.

    The best scenario:

    • Tavern Brawl rewards Arena Tickets
    • Arena rewards Pack Tokens instead of packs from the latest expansion
    • Pack tokens can be traded only for packs that r purchasable in the shop at any given time
    • Pack tokens are stackable, same as Arena Tickets

    Easy!

Yeah, i know ... go back to Earth :D

     Da dream!

And the free arena mode will be really bad. It will have no sense because people will just rerroll till they got insane decks and that is not the idea. And from blizzard point of view you are giving people free cards and unincentibating people to buy packs.

I will give my opinion about your comments.

If you think some people wont be interested in it you could just make them choose between a classic pack or an arena ticket.

I seriously dont know how this will affect blizzard economically. Looking from the outside i see that they want to encourage people to play arena. This means that arena should be profitable. The problem of arena is that it is really difficult to start playing it. If you incetivate people to play it you should expect more money gains. It is kind of a gamble. You will lose 1 arena ticket payment from all your current arena players in exchange of new arena payments from new arena players. They should put it in a balance and see if they end up winning or losing money.

What do you think if the tavern brawl reward to be an arena ticket instead of a pack? This way, players that are not interested in trying arena can just get their pack and players that are interested can have one guaranteed arena run per week (which in my opinion is not that much) and they get a sense of what arena is.

When i started the game i played my free arena and got crushed by experienced players. From then i havent touched arena because i was going to lose my gold. With the new free arena runs i had a blast but i still cant afford to pay for it. It would be nice to have a weekly arena run to train before i make a transition to this game mode.

I am a f2p. I usually hit rank 15 just for the dust. I dont like ranked because it is time consuming and stressful. I would not put money on the game or in a course.

I dont want to disencourage you but i have to be honest. I dont think that people will pay for something that you could get for free. It is not only that there is a free version of what you are trying to sell but there are multiple free options. If i dont like kripp because i think he is too salty i can watch kibler and learn from him. The problem i see here is that the free version is more versatile than whatever you could offer will be.

That being said, i could be wrong. I could never think that something like twitch would ever work. People watching people play games and sending them money when they are not forced to do so. That a crazy business model that worked. Maybe you could find that niche of players that demand your service. I wish you all the luck in the world in this new journey.

Ps: im curious. Could you tell me how many customers do you think is needed for your project be viable?

     Thanks for your opinion :)
Regarding your curiosity: this is just a part of a bigger project. We are currently working on several gaming education materials(there are a lot of them around, yes) with several different people. All other materials aside from the course are free to view. The course is more of an experiment - because there are platforms for online education, despite there being available materials on YouTube. I do have to invest a certain amount of money(before any marketing expenses) into this, and I won't be getting the full 10-15$ per student. But I would say this is a success and consider doing more game-related courses if I get, let's say, 300 students within the first month. Looking at the poll here, it would only require me to reach 3900 people with an ad of sorts. (5 out of 65 on the poll at the time of writing). Even if we assume only 20% of people would put their money where their mouth is right now, we go up to ~20k people for 300 students, which should be really easy to achieve. Considering how I just slapped a lame description here, I think a properly presented marketing material(with an actual product behind it, and a preview) would make the initial conversion rate(5/65) higher. As far as this calculation goes, the course is financially viable. Meaning, I can relax and focus on making the course as valuable for future students as possible :)
Wow. 300 people is a low number. Hs has millons of players. I thought you would need something like 10k to make it viable. Well anyways good luck with it.

posted a message on Possible fix to ice block.

I like the idea that a card like ice block exist to mess with 0tk combos. It should be a tech card and not an auto include in most mage decks.

My idea is that the change it to: "if you took more than 15 damage this turn, gain inmunity until the next turn".

What do you think about it?

The priest list is fun, but I took out the Twilight Drakes for Bone Drakes, because you don't usually have a large hand. Also i added Thoughtsteal, because it gives you more to play. I thought about adding in The Curator, Vicious Fledgling, and a Coldlight Oracle, but havent pulled the trigger on that yet.

I will test this later. Seems like a nice suggestion. I was looking for a dragon and to fill the 4 mana slot to have better curve but you may be right. I also like the idea of having card advantage of that random dragon.

About the curator combo, i dont like the idea of giving cards to the opponent but i will try your suggetion.

By using the Coldlight Oracle you believe the two cards you draw are more valuable than the two your opponent draws. This can be a safe assumption if your cards already have the +1/+1 buff.  Also it can be used if your opponent has 8 cards in their hand, hopefully overdrawing a key piece for them. Similarly, you can cut the murloc and still have the curator draw 2 cards.
You are thinking in a minion vs minion matchup. What happens if i give him some powerfull board clear?

I've had pretty good success with a different take on the Keleseth hunter, though I landed on a fair number of the same cards as you. Not posting my deck though, as I prefer to capitalize on the surprise factor as long as possible, when people would never dream of seeing Keleseth in a hunter deck. Edit: sitting at 13 and 4 so far, all this season.

i am intrigued by your deck. please post it when you got bored of it.

I upvoted all, but I think someone is downvoting them at the same moment. Too bad.

No problem man. My decks always get downvoted. I prefer to get a comment from someone that found them useful that an upvote.
