RandallAldrich posted a message on How do you deal with post-game friend requests?Posted in: General DiscussionI am usually the person that adds people. It's my way of just getting people to watch and learn to get a pack. Sometimes I will peek in at what they are doing to get ideas for decks.

UnboundA7X posted a message on How do you deal with post-game friend requests?Posted in: General DiscussionIt all depends on my opponent's behavior during the game. Emote spammers (especially if it's "wow") are a definite no-go. I wait at least 10-15 minutes after most games before accepting a friend request. I made an exception when an opponent beat me twice in a row in Arena and kept me from achieving 12 wins. Both games were hard fought and we both "well played" each other at the end.
I've only sent a friend request once, because I liked my opponent's battle tag.

devcrom3 posted a message on Beginner HelpPosted in: General DiscussionLots of people have said it, but I have to reiterate. Classic is the best value for a new player until you have a good collection. Then I'd get the first wing of BRM, all of LoE, and then get some WOG packs to throw together a decent C'thun deck. It's not impossible to get 100g a day if you are lucky with your dailies, and always reroll the 40g ones. The only time you don't want to do that is if you have synergy between them. Like, if you have one to win 2 with mage or priest, and another to win 5 with priest, all you have to do is win 5 with priest and you've got a good chunk of gold.

with the gold, hold on to it... definitely refer to some resources (streams, heartharena.com) on navigating the arena. try it once and see how you like it. now, 3 wins can net 1-2packs which is really worth it in terms of expanding your collection quick, but the difficult part is to pick up playing on arena. regardless try it once to get a feel of some of the cards you don't have.
TLDR: for now try arena once and make the best of it, and don't be discouraged if you lose 0-3.

SeaDolphin1 posted a message on Beginner HelpPosted in: General DiscussionI would just buy some basic packs! There'll be some other players who're like "Omg! You gotta totally go into arena cause that's how you learn and you can also get packs back and its a fun time" but in all honesty, as a beginner you're gonna struggle a ton! It's not that fun in my opinion until you actually play constructed a bit. In terms of what to do in the meantime, I would watch Trump's f2p stream! He shows how he actually got to legend on a brand new account. Basically he didn't grind out arena for a ton of packs, instead he just kept ranking up and over time gathered packs, disenchanted stuff, and focused on one class. Good luck in your quest!!

quicksilv001 posted a message on Beginner HelpPosted in: General DiscussionFirst, make sure you are completing all the hidden quests. Look at them HERE
Now when it comes to what to use your gold on, the adventures are AMAZING value but make sure you're just getting the most recent ones, definitely League of Explores when you can and MAYBE Blackrock Mountain if you can. Before that you should probably get some cards to compete, i would recommend CLASSIC packs since they are generally more "useful" and will never leave standard but don't hesitate to play ARENA to get better value if you win more yet you can only get the newest expansion packs, which isn't terrible. If you aren't getting 3+ wins in arena it's better to just buy CLASSIC packs and sometimes the new expansion packs. Hope this helps, good luck!

Playing Standard, casual, with a Priest deck. Come up against a Hunter using the Alleria character. I'm mostly screwing around with Priest, because well Priest is bad.
Anything I do the guy responds with an emote. I don't squelch for some dumb reason, and after about turn 8 of continual "Wow" at any card played, despite having an advantage, I just concede.
I then compound my idiocracy by friending the person to congratulate them for annoying somebody to a win in casual, and the guy curses me out and before I can reply "Um, okay" he unfriends me.
Some people have problems. I literally don't care if I win a particular casual game with Priest, I'm mostly messing around with it. Why people gotta be jerks, I don't know.

Pretty sure no gold for winning this...quests complete, but no gold.

I got to 80 damage with a mid range hunter. I could have cleared the board but..after 10 turns, who cares.

You know what..as long as there are Priests with Justicar Trueheart, I'm okay with Worgen OTK.

I might be the only one that enjoyed this brawl.
My strategy: Use a hero with a hero power that can hit the face Hunter/Mage/Druid/Rogue. General rules:
1. Play on curve.
2. If you have a minion you want to kill another with or hit face, do that before playing any new minions.
3. If you are ahead by some luck and can do a lot of damage, hit face.
4. If you are ahead, play fewer minions - such as one on curve - to prevent RNG issues. If you are ahead by a lot, don't even play a minion that turn. Hit face with minion and hero power.
5. If you are behind, say on turn 8, play as many low cast minions as you can and see what happens. See what random spell happens each time before adding more. I've seen both characters healed to max multiple times, as well as clearing the entire board too.
I've probably played this brawl 30-40 times. I've gotten both a turn 1 CoTW and had that go against me. Don't take it too seriously.

And now i'm playing the dreaded aggresive shaman with bloodlust and the 4 mana cost 7/7 from WoG along with a Thing From Below that has taunt and costs 1 less for each totem previously summoned.
Don't hate me. Just trying to earn some coins and buy some packs.

Makes sense thank you.
