In vanilla there was a highly praised 'rotational meta' that everyone seemed to talk about, this deck counters this etc etc...does this even exist anymore post-GvG? It feels like everyone just plays whatever they want now, which may or may not be a good thing, and don't even bother worrying about the meta.
Someone claimed to have gone to legend with a demonlock awhile back, I think the major thing to keep in mind is, even though a demonlock might be playable with above 50% winrate...theres really no reason to not run zoo or handlock instead.
If you just want to play demonlock though yea I think it's doable...you might have to dig a bit for some lists though.
I've been having trouble all day trying to put together a decent shaman. They just feel sub-par compared to other classes at the moment, at least to me they do. If I wanted to play control I'd just go use a better class, Deathrattle, Mech, and mixed midrange lists seem to be the outs...but they feel tricky to piece together just right.
Do you have the naxxramas cards? Those are the most important by far (Loatheb/Belcher) etc.
I mean, there are a decent few decks you can throw together on the relatively cheap side that should honestly be able to put you around 10-15 (Midrange Priest, Any hunter variation, zoolock, midrange shaman, secrets mage) to name a few off the top that shouldn't be too bad to F2P pack wise to complete.
Honestly if you're going that negative you either have really flawed deck designs or are making too many mistakes per game (even one misplay can cost you the entire game, or completely change how the match plays out). You have the dedication, and throwing down money for a game you love is never a bad idea. Think of how many hours you've poured into this, is that honestly not worth the 50-100 bucks? You can definitely still hit legend F2P-wise as well (assuming you buy packs + naxx with gold)
Good luck man, hopefully you hit your stride and even things up a bit.
Speaking as a tournament organizer who ran limited constructed format, NO Legendary cards, I can say no it is not needed. Zoo pretty cheap deck, New miracle pretty cheap deck, Hunter is pretty cheap. Yes the strong players use paladin, warrior, handlock, and druids, which are pretty pricey to say the least, but they still lose to lower cost decks. So to say that this game is pay to win is a very ignorant statement. Make cheap decks, learn the mechanics. Try to come up with solutions to board states with what you have available. You will become a stronger player when your collection increases.
Implying you don't need access to a wide variety (if not every single deck) to be competitive at the highest level. Yes, the game IS pay to win(Now). Unless you feel like grinding out every single card. There IS a free to play option, it just takes TIME instead of MONEY. Pay to win NOW, grind to win LATER.
Either way you'll still be lacking in the skill department without sufficient practice. You won't hit legendary just because you have every single card. However, without a sufficient card pool, good luck hitting top legendary. Tournaments? You'll need at least 4 decks (depending on format).
That's honestly how card games work, you want to get all the cards to make the best decks, this is no different.
Of course it is, it's a CCG...I don't even understand the people complaining. The more cards you have, the better off you will be, common sense. Do you *NEED* to buy them? No, you don't. It's Pay2Win FASTER and NOW rather than LATER after grinding all of your cards.
Either way, you need the cards, duh.
However, once you buy or obtain the cards, it's no surprise to anyone if you still suck at the game. It does indeed take experience and skill to play at the highest level.
I just almost lost a game on mage due to them saving the coin for when they thought I had a counterspell up, it seems really odd to me that it's considered a spell. I feel like it should be its own type of card or something.
And of course there's rogue that can combo off of it. That one makes more sense since it's any card they combo.
I don't find anything wrong with rogue but it really bothers me that mage secrets can be popped with the coin. Thoughts?
Am I the only one that thinks Handlock is more annoying than hunters + miracle combined? Deck is so retarded, here let me drop a stupid number of huge taunted 4/9's and 8/8's (ON TURN FOUR) with surprising consistency since I can just draw over half my deck every game no problem, GLHF.
I preferred the old meta(s).
Edit: err, not cancer, more-so annoying or I just hate the deck.
Why would you think that every single class needs to be able to perform every single role? That's a little silly IMO, they're different classes with different strengths. Hunter's ability just isn't all that control oriented. Though there are still hunter control decks.
The problem with the whole 'new cards and content' issue is...time. Why would anyone want to wait even longer (months) for them to fix what has already been rampant for a long time. It's clear they didn't make this judgement based on a whim. They clearly stated it has been a problem in everyone's ass for way too long now, and it's not going to fix itself.
The only way I usually win is burst them down before they draw the cards they need and/or keepers of the grove to silence and bypass the taunts with damage enough to end it.

Sounds like you need a new deck. There's an obvious issue here, fix your mana curves.

I don't have the official article but I can tell you thousands of people use it daily with absolutely zero issues. It's legit

Learn to play a deck that doesn't get roflstomped by aggro if that's your beef. Card games reward the flexibility to change decks.
I hardly run into any aggro, it's all midrange/control for me, with the occasional zoo. The storm will pass.

Also just noticed how Necro this thread was.

um, the exact same way? You just don't get OP card draw now as it should be.
I'm sure some people will opt to take out buzzard completely.
