posted a message on The Spark - Custom Class (Basic, Classic, Nax, GvG, BRM, and TGT)

Spare part hero power is nice. Can really make a lot of deck types with that.

However, the invisibility spare part can be deck breaking imo resulting to various miracle decks. Minus that, the hero class might work.

Only have an opinion on Mega zapper. Too good at 7 damage as it 90% of the time will clear the enemy board (like a 7 damage flamestrike). I suggest increasing the ante to include all minions for 7 damage board wipe.

posted a message on Twig or Hadronox?

Of the two decks, I'd say Taunt druid will most likely be a mainstay deck / more competitive deck throughout the year of the raven.

Also, projecting the viability of the two cards in Wild, Hadronox will still be a staple in Taunt druid. Twig, on the other hand, will be obsolete there as Aviana + Kun combo does the same thing and is hardly disruptible vs weapon removal.  Togwagle decks in wild also use Avian+Kun.

BUT Twig is fun right now at standard with Togwaggle.

Therefore, as people said its fun vs competitive/useful

Fun at standard but useless in wild later on  =  Twig

Competitive, most likely useful later at wild = hadronox

Golden Dr Boom! Really blingy at that time. Does not see much play now at wild but wont dust it ever.

Also crafted golden tyrion, golden ragnaros lightlord, golden antonidas, golden warrior quest. Bling too good hahaha.

posted a message on [Legend] Wild Glinda Gennlock

I'm actually also experimenting Genn Handlock in wild last April and had lots of fun. It definitely have potential but I was not able to optimize the decklist.

Your deck looks really good though. Addition of mossy horror is a great idea.

Also, I think hooked reavers are a must as I've won quite a handful because of them. Shroom brewers felt like dead card most of the time as they are counter intuitive when you are trying to hit 15 life asap for those buffed reaver drops and early moltens. I've felt that buffed amethyst spellstones provide enough heal so that you wont be bursted down. The only time I've wanted those extra heals are when I'm facing Baku Hunters (which are extinct now in wild. Thank goodness)

posted a message on Is NetDecking a Problem?

As long as there is internet, netdecking will always be prevalent. Even in famous physical TCGs like MtG, netdecking exists.

Very rarely in standard format would they have an out of the box deck take over an MtG grand prix.

What's different however is the amount of tech and min-maxing available for Mtg decks based on your deck building skills and read on the current meta/tourney that you will join.  With up to 4 cards of a same copy in a deck, similar deck concepts will/may have different ratio of cards. And this I think really differentiates casual players (net deckers) and good players in terms of deck building.

I enjoy hearthstone but I do think it is restricted by the deck size and max 2 card copies in a deck. This makes the deck tinkering very narrow as a whole.

Netdecking is normal but there is not enough tinkering space for decks to truly differentiate/reward good deck builders from outright netdeckers.

Hah, time to get my anti-anti-secret paladin deck.

Nevertheless, still waiting for them to balance Mysterious Challenger in Wild. Gonna hold on my 6 Mysterious Challengers for a little while longer

posted a message on Would a completely F2P Hearthstone work?

The sense of entitlement is strong with this one whew

Anyway, aside from the fact that you compared HS to a Moba (which is wrong btw since the game are very different to the core so their F2P model cannot be interchanged/compared), I can relate to the struggle of not being able to play with friends who just started. This has something to do with the game design really. While MobAs are actually built for friends to play together regardless of background/experience, HS is more akin to a MMORPG. While a part of HS is playing the games, another part of it is the experience of growing your collection and experiencing the cards you get along the way. Of course you can opt out of the "experiencing" part and just buy all the packs in one get go.

Like RPGs, you really can't play the same game with a Lvl 1 friend using your Lvl 99 character unless you start again also. But then again, repeating will get kind of bland since you already experienced it right? In this sentiment, I really can't agree of making all the cards accessible since it would become a watered down MobA style in cards (then why not play a MobA itself then) and that would get boring fast for most players. HS was not meant that way.

And to answer your question, F2P is hard and long but the experience of playing the game for the new players is kinda essential.

PS. On the point of game immersion, building your card collection is similar to LoL and HotS limiting your hero pool oppose to DotA 2 with your full hero collection. Either one is fine, but saying that DotA 2 is better since you are able to play all heroes at the start is arguable (I like DotA 2 more) since you are disregarding other aspects of limiting/building up your runes and hero pool.

posted a message on New Shaman Card - Flamewreathed Faceless

Overload 2 at turn 4 leaves you with 3 mana at turn 5 or 2  mana at turn 4 with coin. 3 mana in turn 5 is not that bad since you can still use Lightning storm and hex for board control. However, one possible drawback  is that you'll miss a possible turn 5 Azure drake  or that new 5 mana hammer or Halleazal. Nevertheless, the body looks scary without hard removal or trading a lot of minions to it. Think about it, a few decks have viable answers by turn 4 like hex, sap, the one tech BGH, execute (though with execute you still need something to damage this so still potentially 2 for 1).

In theorycraft, you should make the 3 slot a little heavy with non-overload minions (like tuskar totemic or Unbound Elemental) to ensure a good curve and synergy  on turn 4 and turn 5 with flamewreathed faceless and master of evolution.
